This Padlet exploration I will be talking about Ratliff's concept about single notes, and how they are an important musical element. I do agree with Ratliff's point, mainly because I do have a set few songs that I can pick out one note from that is considered "home".

There are a couple of single notes that stick out in this example, but the one that I found most interesting was the low, deep, guitar strum that lasted a long time; correlating with "miles and miles".

This correlates with the quote above. The beginning part of the song has some very stretch out single notes, these lead into the main single note that sets up for the rest of the song.

The single note is the one at the very beginning. If I was a little more musical versed I could say what cord that was, but I have no idea, I just really really like that sound. This is the "home" note. You hear that single note come back throughout the song.
