This theory is a useful framework for individuals because it describes in depth how to achieve life balance in the 21st Century. Balancing life-role activities requires clarity on a daily basis because of the rapid changing economy or workforce. Today, students have a endless variety of career options that can be achievable through a variety of work environments ( home, office, coffee shop, etc.,) which can make it challenging for others to understand and cope (Niles, Herr, Hartung, & ERIC Clearinghouse, 2001 ). The theory's concepts supports our goal to prepare students for the rapid changing dynamic of our economy and workforce while still being able to balance life roles and work.
