The festivities vary from region to region, but they usually share several similar features. One of which is a memorial ceremony offering sacrifices to a local hero combined with sporting events such as dragon races, dragon boating and willow shooting. Others include feasts of rice dumplings, eggs and ruby sulphur wine, folk entertainments such as opera, song and unicorn dances. 
     The hero that is celebrated varies by region. In the Hubei and Hunan Provinces, the romantic poet Qu Yuan is venerated. Wu Zixu (an old man that is said to have died while slaying a dragon in the Guizhou Province) in South China, and Yan Hongwo in Yunnan Province among the Dai community. 
Participants also ward off evil during the festival by bathing in flower-scented water, wearing silks of five colours, hanging plants such as moxa and calamus over their doors, and pasting paper cut-outs in their windows. The Dragon Boat festival strengthens bonds within families and establishes a harmonious relationship between mankind and Mother Nature. The dragon boat in the middle is the flagship. Three of the dragon boats are of the same size. We also learnt that how the Dragon Boat provides a huge impact to Chinese culture. In addition, we also learnt the importance of historical structures and how it symbolizes our identity as a culture. 
     During the building process, we have cultivated outstanding teamwork and tacit understanding between group members. We also realized the importance of communication. designing was also an important factor to make the project look amazing as it is.
