In this first article, rapper Kodak Black was able to post a $100,000 bail for sexual battery charges in 2016. But in 2015, he was also arrested for multiple charges of assault, robbery, kidnapping and assault. Despite these charges, he has became a rising star as a rapper. In relation to particularlism, his fans are still supportive although he has been arrested under multiple accounts within 2 years and is able to post bail because he has the money.

The second article shows the dilemma of the current immigration issues. "A Day Without Immigrants" was major movement to show the view of how immigrants are necessary for America and America's economy. The McDonald restaurants that closed this day is a response from particularists that will oppose the universalist system if they pursue against immigrants.

The third article is a dilemma that favors universalism because it favors rules and the system. In South Korea, males are required to serve time in the military. T.O.P, a famous Korean and worldwide celebrity, is under fire for supposedly receiving better treatment because of his status. This contrasts the first example.

In the fourth article, the White House Commission on Asian American and Pacific Islanders resigned in protest to Trump's policies. This is a powerful step towards particularlism because it shows how these representatives, who have government jobs chose to resign because they do not agree with the universalist, executive orders of Trump.

In this first article, it shows that 40,000 people were at the Women's March in Austin. This is one of almost 300 other marches that were also held in several other cities. It was a peaceful symbol of standing up for the protection of human rights, safety and health of all people. I thought this was a great example of communitarianism because it shows how united we are, worldwide.

The movie Hunger Games is an example of individualism because it shows how one individual became a symbol of rebellion to the wealthy Capitol/government. In this second article, the influence of the movie Hunger Games is apparent when Thai protesters used the same gesture from the movie as a symbol of resistance to their own government.

The third example is the final scenes of Finding Dory where animals from the aquarium and from the ocean work together to make sure everyone is safe. I thought this was an example of communitarism because the individuals do not work selfishly towards their own pursuits, they work together for the benefit of all.

The fourth example is a picture of a take on "collectivism". This highlights the need for individualism because it shows how everyone is different and the idea of treating everyone the same is faulty.

The first picture shows a research group. This is an example of specificity because this is a professional group that maintain work relationships and a respectful environment. Their goal is all the same which is to gain results for their research.

When I watched Grey's Anatomy, I remembered one couple that had a newborn with a rare disease. This rare disease, depicted in the second photo, is called osteogenesis or brittle bone disease. This is an example of specificity because it requires specialists that have the position to treat this patient (that are able to do surgeries and the medical procedure "percutaneous vertebroplasty")

The third photo is the cast of the TV show "Community". This is an example of diffusiveness because this group used to only meet up to study for one class but they began to hang out more and have a broad range of relationships with each other.

The fourth photo is from the movie of "The Secret Life of Pets". This is an example of diffusiveness because the gang of different animals had to use their personalities and ideas to work together to find their friend dogs, Max and Duke.

This picture of 'Mulan' from the film is an example of ascribed and achieved status. Mulan's role as a woman can be seen as ascribed status because in the movie, she is first depicted by getting ready (bathing, putting on make-up) to look presentable in front of the matchmaker. This shows that in this society, the women hold a domestic role as a wife and mother. Mulan later has to pretend to be a male in order to take her ill father's place in the war. The role of a soldier is an achieved status because she had to work hard in order to prove herself that she is fit to be a soldier as a female.

Homelessness is a controversial issue and can be seen as achieved or ascribed status. Some people were born with disabilities or did not have support from parents/guardians at a young age. These people had no control over their circumstances and become homeless by default. Some people are homeless because they achieved this or did not achieve enough.

This is a photo of Sergey Brin, who is the co-founder of Google. I think he is an example of achieved status because his family immigrated from Moscow, Russia (at the time it was the Soviet Union), to the United States. He has worked alongside co-founder, Larry Page, to create the world's most used search engine. His estimated net worth is $24.4 billion.

This picture shows the amount of money spent from taxpayers to support the royal family. The total cost of about 36,000,000 pounds is equivalent to 44,929,260.00 U.S dollars. This is about 56 pounds which is 69.89 U.S dollars per person. This grand amount shows how the royal family is considered ascribed status because they were born into royalty.

In Japan, children are warned to hide their stomachs during thunderstorms, especially before sleeping. It is believed that Raijin (the god of thunder), will steal and eat your belly button during a storm. This is an example of outer direction culture because the power of nature, such as a thunderstorm has cultural meaning in Japan.

In Yemen, women are taught from an early age to avoid the meat of goats because they believe that eating it will cause them to grow beards. I thought this was an example of outer direction culture because this is an exaggeration to anybody besides the people of Yemen because it has a direct correlation of a specific food and gender.

The "Walking Dead" is a television show where the world has reached a point where walkers/zombies are abundant and you are able to become one if bitten. This is an example of inner direction because it is based on survival of the strongest.

The Belko Experiment is a new movie that locks a company's building where nobody can escape. They are then instructed to kill some people off. This is an example of exaggerated inner direction because this tests the morals of every employee as they must "kill or be killed".

This video is an example of a synchronic time perception because the competitors of this cooking show have to cook without a timer. This tests a chef's ability to cook without knowing the exact time. It shows tests how experienced chefs are to know when the food is cooked well.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman is a movies that uses a time machine that allows them to adventure all over the world and at different time periods. This is an example of sequential time perception because these companies only receive goods only as needed by the production processes.
