When I was in high school, I feel like guidance counselors were more focused on what classes you were taking and your test scores. I think more emphasis should be placed on helping students learn about themselves and finding what they are passionate about so they can work towards a rewarding future. I currently work as an Audiologist, and do hearing tests and hearing aid fittings. I've always wanted to work with children, and in this career I don't get to as often as I'd like. I did placements in the school setting and worked very closely with school counselors.
