Throughout the years Women have gone through so much and are finally getting a voice now. We have done so much over the course of history to change how we as women are viewed. In the article by Former Rep. Nan Hayworth she demonstrates how women have changed over the course of history. It shows how one woman in a family changed the way her daughter looked at life and how she taught her to stand up for women and her rights all over the world. It describes what women had to go through in the 1950s and how women were treated during the immigration period.

Former Rep.

During the immigration period it was very different for women compared to men. The women were forced to be in the kitchen while men worked all day. It shows how the country portrayed women as stay at home moms and just cleaned and cooked for their husbands. The book by Susan C. Pearce highlights the social aspect of each gender and what women really faced during this time period. In the book the images help to portray what the author is trying to convey.
Pearce, Susan C, et al.

Women and especially mothers were forced to keep everyone afloat and be the arms for everyone. During this time the dream was seen as having kids, being married, and having a house. It was also to work. The men worked the women took care of the house. It shows how women did all the "heavy lifting" but did not get any recognition in the end. In the book by Betty Reid Mandell "Three Women, 10 kids, and a Nation's drive to end welfare" it is explained how immigration and war were different perspectives towards women.
Mandell, Betty Reid.

During this time many women faced unbearable challenges. Women decided to do something about it and take life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness into their own reality and change their rights. It was a social profit for women in America and even helped women across the world, It presents the ideas of idealism and optimism which increased during the second world war. The book by Claire Gaudiani and Burrnett D. Graham emphasizes the challenges and shows the outcome.
Gaudiani, Claire, and D Graham Burnett.

As seen in most of the timeline the 20th century was all about new growth and finding women their voices. It was a challenging experience but moving into the 21st century women started to recognize change and even had a voice for those who felt helpless. Janet L. Yellen wrote a book called "The History of Women's Work and Wages and How it has Created Success for Us All" which shows how the different economic growth has changed the challenges for women in the work force. Women's perspective on the "American Dream" is much different for women than men because women had to work harder for what they wanted and had to be brave and strong for their families during scary times.
Yellen, Janet L. “The History of Women's Work and Wages and How It Has Created Success for Us All.” Brookings, Brookings, 6 Jan. 2021, https://www.brookings.edu/essay/the-history-of-womens-work-and-wages-and-how-it-has-created-success-for-us-all/.
