Social Media Negativity - Parent Edition

If you are a parent, have you ever heard your child ask if they could have an account on social media? I am not a parent, just a 5th grader, but I know lots of kids ask that question. Do you allow your children to have phones and download anything because you presume they will make the right choices? I don't blame you, kids can be VERY well mannered, but when it comes to other kids talking about snapchat, musical.ly, Instagram, Facebook, etc, your children feel like that is the perfect opportunity to fit in. I know most of you think that your children are very well behaved, but just check their apps/social media once in a while. Social media can be inappropriate , hurtful and offensive to them. They get threatened. They get hurt. Offended.
~Olivia Eckersberg
