         <title>5.	How can you help your students understand the importance of international understanding as it relates to your course?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I am a teacher from the Philippines and is now teaching for almost ten years here in Indonesia and I have witnessed similar environmental issues which is happening here and in my country – Deforestation, illegal logging and poaching leading to a near extinction of endemic organisms, like the Sumatran tiger, Orangutan “Red Ape” and Javan Rhinoceros.</div><div> </div><div>By making our students  understand and connect their learning and experience from these local issues and instilling in them a role of being a vital global citizen  to the greater human condition with a sense of accountability with the environment.</div><div> </div><div>Awareness, compassion and responsibility will give them more reasons and motivation to create a positive impact.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have conducted a tie up activity with a school in India - Lucky International School on one of the related topics in Ecology – Fishing Industry in Indonesia, with a group of students from their school and ours we exchanged investigative results thru live online video presentation. </div><div>It was a great learning experience for our students to get engaged in a collaborative  discussion with students from outside the country the degrading conditions of the marine life affecting most regions like India and Indonesia. </div><div>This served also an awareness of a need for a concerted efforts from the young students of both schools to play an active role in the international society in their time at the future. </div>]]></description>
