I feel like this song represents the Vignette Hips. The girls are worshiping and celebrating the fact that they have or are developing hips and learning to love who you are.

This might not have any words. But I feel like it would be something that Esperanza would listen to while she would write and stare at the trees outside of her window. It just seems like it would give a sense of calm and wholeness to a world that she does not want to belong in.

Parts of this song in the lyrics remind me how Sally left her at the carnival and she got raped. Parts of the lyrics say
"Does she know that we bleed the same?" Makes me think of the betrayal and that she is human too and should get a choice in something like this.

In the book there are multiple scenarios where she envies other people. And tries to achieve what she is jealous about but sometimes it does not work out in her favor.

This song, kind of wraps life up and puts it in a high schooler's perspective. Life will shoot you down in many ways and pick you up as well. It will take time to try and find the crowd that is right for you even if it means taking some risks. This song represents multiple vignettes but one I can see clearly when Veronica is singing about going to a french cafe covered in vines reminds me of Esperanza dreaming about what her house would look like once she is an adult.
