Lesson Presentation/Notes in Powerpoint

Slide 2: As a class, brainstorm what the term “digital citizen” means. Write ideas/suggestions on whiteboard as students come up with them.

Slide 3: Ask students if they were right, give themselves a pat on the back.

Slide 4: Play video discussing what digital citizenship means (3:34). Wrap up at the end by going over the different dangers discussed in video (over sharing, being “out there forever”, etc).

Slide 5: Students will discuss their thoughts and ideas for about 4-5 min, then share out whole class

Slide 6: Students will find a partner and write down the terms they think they should avoid online. After 5-7 min, students will be asked to share their ideas with the class.

Slide 7: Students will be asked to get into groups to work on their poster board. Some accommodations include students being able to use a computer or other technology device to assist them in completing this activity.
