- The Ivory Coast had a successful economy until the late 1980s due to a 7-year long recession. In the mid-1990s, new financial arrangments, and devaluation of the CFA franc assisted the country with some economic recovery; however, towards the end of the 20th century, there was a halt to this recovery process because of the prices of cocoa and coffee declining and political instability. Economic growth began to occur within the 2010s, but after COVID hit in 2020, the growth began to decrease.
- The country is an independent republic, within this republic they have a president, vice president, and a prime minister. The president is elected. The vice president is elected by the president, but they must be approved by parliament. - Private facilities that are available offer moderate medical services; however, the cost tends to be expensive. Some of these facilities may offer cashless services and some may require patients to pay their service in cash, but this is an issue due to the fact that the majority of the population lives in poverty.
