<title>Race, Gender, and Work by Sophia Li</title>

<description>1. Look at the U. S. Department of Labor Statistics and identify a few different occupations of interest. Pay close attention to occupations that seem to have a disproportionate number of workers from a particular gender or race: https://www.bls.gov/cps/cpsaat11.htm

2. Next, examine the mean hourly wage rate for these occupations: https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes_nat.htm

3. Finally, look at the NORC prestige scores for some of these occupations: http://ibgwww.colorado.edu/~agross/NNSD/prestige%20scores.html

4. Do you notice any trends worth discussing? How might you explain patterns in occupation? Try to reference the readings in your discussion. </description>
