I started off as a science major, but I changed my mind to pursue a career in tourism management. This is because I want to try to learn new things, gain new knowledge and explore as much as I can in this major. At first I felt like I was being forced, but over time I started to get into the rhythm and love this course. 

There are various obstacles for me to finish my degree. This is because I have been stricken with a severe and serious illness and had to postpone my semester twice. I started isolating myself because people said I was weird. I always need time alone to take my medicine and take care of my health.

As time flies by, I'm able to get back on my feet. 

“I'm not weird, I'm different” 
These different people can also stand out and succeed in life. That is why this expression has become a word of wisdom in my life.

It was hard to be so far behind my friends who had started out with me, but I eventually accepted it and got more driven to continue my fight to study in this course.

I love this course and all the subjects I have learned. This subject is one of my favorite subjects.

I'm currently taking the subject Professional Etiquette For Hotelier (HTH558) and this e-Portfolio is being created as one of the assessments I am completing for the Tourism Management course that I'm taking as part of my three-year Degree.

Besides, one of his characteristics that I respect is, he constantly prioritizes his staff and does his best to look after all of them. 

As we have been informed, Air Asia has also been affected by this pandemic. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes had lost 2400 workers due to the international border being closed to prevent the spread of covid-19 during the time of the pandemic. But he did not give up so easily; he pledged to rehire all of his laid-off employees once the situation had improved.

"They did nothing wrong. They're great staff and they've been very good people to AirAsia. It's just a crazy time. But that is my number one and two principles," said Tan Sri Tony Fernandes when he was interviewed by reporters on 22 December. 

He is the person I look up to if I ever become a leader in my team at my workplace one day or have a position in any firm.

From first chapter to another, i have learned the right way to communicate with people, the right way how to make a resume, the best way to answer the questions from interviewer, what is the proper attires should i wear when go to the interview, the etiquette when we have a fine dining and many more. What can I say is, everything that my lecturer teaches me, is still fresh in my brain. 

The climax of this subject is when we need to conduct a webinar as a group. It's hard, I'm not going to lie, but I'm not going to deny either that it's fun actually. From zero knowledge about how to conduct the webinar, to the pro one that knows from a to z. With the help of our lecturer and my best teammates, we finally did the webinar successfully. It's not just that I've learned how to settle everything about the webinar, but also I have learned to communicate with people around me without being embarrassed anymore. I’d applied everything that was already taught in our class and practiced it in my daily lives. Actually, I'm an Introvert. Most of the class, I just kept quiet and didn't even dare to speak up in class. Thanks to this subject, I have learned a lot and I became braver than before.

Hardware skills allow us to physically operate a computer and can be as simple as knowing how to turn devices on and off. Software skills help us to efficiently use computer programs and applications. I have the ability to use MS Word, MS Powerpoint and MS Excel. Besides, I also know how to use other applications like Canva, Pecca Kuccha and Photoshop. Besides, I know how to send an email and use social media.

Leadership skills are skills we use when organizing other people to reach a shared goal. Whether in a management position or leading a project, leadership skills require us to motivate others to complete a series of tasks, often according to a schedule. I capable to be a leader if elected. I can divide tasks fairly, communicate with colleagues if they have a problem regarding our project, help them and also make small meetings with them if they do not understand about their tasks and need me to explain it again .

Time management skills allow us to complete tasks and projects before deadlines while also maintaining work-life balance. Staying organized can help us allocate your workday to specific tasks by importance. Deeply understanding our individual, team and company goals can provide a starting point when deciding how to manage your time. To manage time wisely, good planning is needed to make sure everything is in place and we can submit the project on time. I'm good at managing time, so I will prioritize the project that has an early due date first and do the rest of the work that has a later due date after that. Focus when doing our project is also important to make sure we finished our work before the due date.
