In contrast to the first video, this video will concentrate on wireless connections. Wireless access points, the connection and the details, will be shown later. In this diagram, our wireless access point, in this case a Motorola one, is bringing in all the data and getting a connection from the wired Internet. Our radio service guarantees that all information is “tunnelled” and nothing can be shown or seen from outside. In the next few minutes I will show how to bring in students to an equipped, wireless connection. In this case, you need to have some ideas before you bring in the first students. In our first school, we have learned how to work with an equipped system that runs on a fibre internet connection that brings all the work to the classrooms. Now I will show how easy it can be to work with a wireless connection in a regular school. This access point, this electronic device brings the internet connection [disconnects the Ethernet link] wire, copper cabling, into the classroom or into the parts where you want to use it, for instance, in special rooms of the school. The difference between a classical access point and this piece of equipment is that this tool is fully equipped with a radio service. The radio service in the server rooms is directly connected to the other service. If you want to bring in a new tool, you just have to plug in electricity first, and after plugging in the electricity, your cabling (in my case the last mile in copper wire), and in a few minutes, this access point will bring in all necessary protocols on its own. I don’t have to do anything else. It is all done by the system. The added value of this machine is that you don’t need an external expert to do the support. And at the other end, it is guaranteed by the network administration that all these tools are working. So if the staff at the server room detects that this access point is not working, one of the staff or people in the house can plug off this machine, bring another machine, and the wireless service is done in the usual way. There is nothing to connect, nothing to change. All the rules of software connection, the rules of hardware connection are controlled by this spider. It costs a bit more than a classical access point but the service is guaranteed by the company that does the connection to the Internet provider and to the file services. The last mile - if you take your own device, in my case a tablet, this device gets a secure internet connection that is tunnelled to the tablet or the devices that you are using so nobody can come into the traffic between these two machines, because the virtual private tunnel is guaranteed by the access point to every device in the area. If you want to use this for your students it is necessary that this machine is brought in to, in my school, the CampusLAN system. So from the beginning you have to set up a device that is provisioned in all details through the network system. It does not need any other authentication because all the passwords that are used for the mailing system, the filing system are linked to the login access system. For a student doing an examination using one of these tools, they just log in with a special account that goes down if one student logs in twice, or if somebody else logs in with the same account. So this is guaranteed, that nobody can come into the network without authentication. Where do they get the authentication? Each machine is checked when they log in the first time using a personalised paraphrase or password that is given by the administration on their entry or first day in school. After leaving school, the provision is deleted automatically. The last use in school will do the deleting of all the partitions that have been brought in by CampusLAN. The connection between this system and the devices is running on an American microwave system so that we don’t have any disruptions from other frequencies. If someone is working on a private Wifi network in here it is not possible to get into the other system, or the other way around. This guarantees that no unauthorised persons is able to come into the central services, and it also guarantees no-one can get the services without being a member of the school. There is one more detail. These machines have a coverage of 400 m2. So you don’t need many of these spiders to cover the campus. In my school we are using 15, because my campus is a very big one. But if you are installing these, initially you will need about 5 to 6 of these spiders and a radio service. One detail more. It is not possible to handle all the network out of the office. So if something is changed in the connection, the services, the certificates, it is always done by the company and not by private users. So, at a glance. If you need elaborated systems in school it cannot be that a teacher or another member of staff is doing all the administration. You saw in the first video that the company helps the teacher and staff who come in to the system. In this video you have seen how we provide an elaborated system. All in all, it is necessary that someone does the pedagogy. It is a guarantee that you can work with the systems.  I used to teach my
previous students to use internet wisely and productively. Also, we used school
laptop to make presentations and students were very motivated. My plan is to
continue to work together with my students to use mobile phone in a correct productive
way . Students should be taught about the proper use of mobile phones, not just for fun, but to teach them how to learn on mobile phones using various educational applications. Also, we need to teach them how to preserve your privacy to be safer in the virtual world.
