I grew up with dear Olivia’s music and much of my childhood was spent listening to her records in my room. Such a beautiful person with a beautiful spirit. Thank you for making my childhood some of the most beautiful memories listening to her sing.

How Olivia’s Album “Stronger Than Before” Effected Me

The title song fueled my belief that you can grow from what seems like tragedy, disappointment, and failure. That there’s a light at the end of any and every tunnel I have to go through. It also reminds me that if I’m ever feeling ugly that true beauty comes from within as with the song “Under The Skin”. “Serenity” has taught me to do us. The lyrics have asked to accept the things that I cannot change, change the things that I still can and use the courage to know the difference. I also ask God’s help with this as the song references. Last but not least., “Pass It On” has reminded me to literally do that with all good things vibes, acts of love forgiveness, giving and receiving, etc. Olivia was a wonderful as a human being and still is as a spiritual being. I got to meet her several times in person. She was everything that she seemed to be in her music in concert TV and film. I am missing her now and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. I will also keep her lyrics and messages with me continue to replay them endlessly. I’ll keep the knowledge of them and live them. Truly, this is for myself and for her, plus for the entire universe.

Dear Olivia, sending this out to the universe in the hopes that your positive spirit and energy may rain down upon me during my battle with cancer. In 1978 I was only eight years old. But I was able to go to the movies when my older brother went and I saw Grease 33 1/2 times. The 1/2 time was because an usher found me halfway through the movie after I ducked into the seats in between films so I could see it again free lol. I was transfixed by Sandy in every way and I still know all the lyrics to every song in the film. Throughout my life your music has been a great comfort - country to pop to spiritual and beyond - through good times and bad breakups. I was inspired by your career, your philanthropy, your ups and downs and personal struggles to your triumphant care of animals and your Centre for wellness. You smiled graciously throughout some of the most (I imagine) difficult times always looking at the positive. And most recently I was so fortunate to have gotten to see you perform in Canada (testing out your show for a Vegas audience afterwards). I was devastated when you passed on, mostly because I don’t like it when the Gods take the good and kind hearted ones away. It just doesn’t seem fair. But I carry with me the things I admired in you so much, compassion, gratitude, kindness, artistry and creativity, collaboration… And of course now battling cancer of my own as a self described “kindness activist” of sorts, I pray I might receive some of your abundant energy to get through darker days and to create even more memories with family and friends. In short Olivia Newton John, you have always been a healer and a leader, showing us a path we can all take to live life, love others, and maintain kindness over hate. My hat goes off to you. You were One of a Kind. (Off topic And may I say the Helmut Newton photos were incredible despite how you may have felt about them at the time!) Ha. Olivia, I have been listening to your music since I was really little, almost 45 years. Your music, strength, and love for everything has been a true inspiration. I wish I had the chance to meet you. I was so blessed to see you with my mom at the concert when your sister Ronan was in the audience and you pointed her out. I believe it was her last concert before she passed. To me this was a very special moment for my mom and I. My mom was also an entertainer and she introduced me to your songs. Your voice and your energy will live on. You were and are an angel in disguise. Your beautiful daughter, Chloe, is an amazing soul. We love and miss you.

I first heard your voice through my dad as he played your records and he also liked The Shadows and Cliff.Much later I saw you in a concert in the Royal Albert Hall singing with heavily voice. Your sister was sitting in the same section. I also saw you live with Cliff singing Suddenly for his birthday concert at The Royal Albert Hall all beautiful memories and your songs live on… 🦋

I first became aware of Olivia when “If You Love Me, Let Me Know” was released in the US. I was 11 years old. This was my first album I ever bought for my first record player. This began a decades long love of her music. As I grew older, it was not just her music but I became knowledgeable about Olivia’s work and advocacy. I finally was able to see Olivia in concert on February 19, 2013 for my 50th birthday. She did not disappoint!! When she passed, my little 11 year old heart was broken. Her soothing voice was always a comfort to this loner whose best friends were always my ponies, horses, cats, and dogs. I adopted a ten year stray Chihuahua mix, Canelo, in August, 2020. As I drove home with him, he cried as he missed his foster Mom. I could not calm him down on the 30 minute car ride! I finally had a great idea! Music always comforts me when I’m in distress. Who comforts me most? My Livvy! I dialed Olivia in my car’s speakers! Canelo was soon calmed down as we listened to “Something Better to Do”, “Come On Over”, “Sam”, Please, Mr. Please”, and of course, “Have You Never Been Mellow”! I just am thankful to still have her music and her legacy.

She's been my favourite singer since the beginning of the pandemic. I was only 12 and searching for new music to listen to, and then she came into my life, and boy am I lucky to call her my idol ! I love you Livvy, I honestly do. 🇺🇾 🩷

I found Olivia as a young girl when she sang country and have loved her ever since. She was my 1st vinyl I ever purchased and still have it. Such a beautiful soul and inspiration to me and so many. My mom past away from breast cancer when I was 29 after her 4th battle with the disease and Olivia kept me inspired throughout the painful journey. She forever holds a special place in my heart ❤️

I started listening when Totally Hot came out. I played that album over and over. Since then your music was a big part of my life, and I still love singing to your songs. My mom loved you too, and took me to see you in concert for my first Mother's Day. She's gone now, but I cherish that memory, it was one of the best times of my life. Grease became my world and my mom gave me the double record soundtrack and at that time she was struggling 🙏.

When I was 11, my father took me to see Olivia during her Physical tour🙏 and she truly became my idol🙌💟. I have continued my love for her music, acting and most importantly now has an older woman m, I treasure her wisdom and the outlook on life she shared with all of us.

Grace and Gratitude became a daily, weekly listen first thing in the morning at my desk job. This album taught me to slow down, listen and be silent to find your voice and strength. All my love to Chloe, who has shared her life with us and the unbelievable gratitude and grief she experiences every day💟. Knowing Olivia found the love of life in her 60’s is something so special to me and fills me with hope, for a true love to come💟🙏

Although I never met you, unfortunately, I always felt myself so near to you..through your voice, your music, your love to the animal, your personality, your wisdom..you and your music brought me through really difficult times in my teenage years and later too..I would listen to your music and your voice calmed me in a very special way. Yes, I agree to your husband John who once said, Olivia was a healer, absolutely..As you leaved this world I felt a huge pain as if I lost a dear friend or a family member. I fell for Olivia when I heard “Have You Never Been Mellow”. The lyrics spoke to me; the music was soothing, and she was Australian. What more could a young 13-year-old want than someone whose song spoke volumes to my soul and who had a connection to my grandmother’s homeland. My grandma was my favorite person in the world. I became a rabid fan. A few years later, I sought out and interviewed her producer and songwriter John Farrar when I was in high school. I went to Century City to watch her film her TV special from a distance. When in 7th grade and in Las Vegas to see her and Kenny Rogers at both shows in one night, I tried to slip out of our hotel room to go see if she was hanging out anywhere in the Riviera Hotel’s public areas after her second show because I’d heard performers sometimes did that. My mom caught me so I didn’t make it out of the room. Rabid. Yes. But what truly spoke to me was the Olivia I got to hear from Gaia on. Stronger Than Before. Grace & Gratitude. Liv On. The live concert CD with John Farnham. Duets CDs. & more. For me, Olivia was a soul of substance. A woman who gave voice and strength to others. From Gaia on, she was everything I’d always thought she was but even more, and even better than one could imagine. I got to have dinner with Olivia and John Easterling. Olivia sat next to me and I talked her ear off. (Poor thing.) I told her how through my interest in her, I’d discovered Cliff Richard, The Shadows, The Tarney-Spencer Band, and Marvin, Welch and Farrar. Nina Simone, too. When she saw me later that night in the restroom, she said cheerily, “Hi Liz”. I didn’t respond. I was too dumbstruck and embarrassed that I’d followed her into the restroom. I will always hold my ON-J memories precious. But it’s not what she means to me that really speaks to her legacy. What is her legacy is light & love with an incredible amount of magic thrown in. She is unique and I miss her.

I first heard you sing that beautiful music at the age of 9 years old. That Christmas I received your album Have You Never Been Mellow and I played it alot. As I got olderI started to get more and more of your music. I gave almost all of it plus your beautiful movies, too. RIP!!!
