Glocalization is when global brands make local products to cater to the local audience.
Some advantages of glocalization are to be able to taste authentic flavours along with local flavours or to be able to use goods and products from other places and to explore products from other places. It can also cause flops in companies such as MTV only using western entertainment for Indian audiences or taco bell having a full Indian menu when the audience wanted an authentic taco bell menu. They make local products for those who prefer local foods from global brands and therefore make a revenue out of it. Many senior citizens prefer eating these products.

Glocalization is bringing global products to a local place and twitching their products to cater to the local audience's taste.

Glocalization is an excellent opportunity for brands to expand their audience and economic growth. Since the brand's new products cater to the local audience's tastes, the brand's economic growth expands greatly.

Although brands have many advantages through glocalization, it is not always a pretty picture. It can also cause flops since the target audience does not get the global aspect that they usually expect from a global brand.

Two companies that have experienced glocalization are Cadbury and Whirlpool.

Whirlpool created a specially customized design for washing machines to assist Indian women in washing Sarees. They specifically considered the needs of their Indian consumers. Indian consumers of Whirlpool have a recurring issue with five-foot or more long sarees getting tangled in washing machines. This expanded their audience and specifically helped Indian women which is quite a huge population. With this strategy, it is sure that their economic growth was enormous.

Furthermore, Cadbury had glocalized over the years. For example, they observed the Indian tradition of gifting sweets at auspicious occasions such as Diwali, Holi, Rakshabandhan, and other such big events. But most Indians prefer gifting the ‘Mithai’ over a box of chocolates on this occasion. Hence, they launched the famous 'Kuch meethas ho jaye’ campaign.

Although the advertisements remain focused on the urban population and cater to the young audience. The commercial series helped Cadbury to emerge as an alternative option for the regular ‘mithai’. Especially when it related to the word ‘Mitha’ in the tagline.

The marketing campaigns of Cadbury is a fine example of evolving with time, focusing on new opportunities, and changing your message to suit the regional demand. This has helped the company to remain competitive over the years. Thus, making Cadbury the definition of chocolate in India.

by Mahi Devnani
glocalization is when you take something global and adjust it for the local for example Wendy's. The advantages of this can be more crowds from the area and more people liking it since it is adjusted to their taste but there can be disadvantages like some people might have wanted to try out what there is in the same place but in another country or they might not want everything to be localized or too little things to be localized.
two companies that have started using glocalization or have been for a long time
are burger king and Macdonald's' for this I am comparing the Paris BK and Jakarta MacD to India. Burger King Paris has vegan options and plant-based options that make it a good place for vegetarians to eat when they go to Europe( Europe has some vegan options in a lot of fast food stores as it is one of the largest producers of realistic plant-based meat ) and in India, the best vegetarian burgers are not made with fake meat and they used paneer (cottage cheese) or potatoes. In MacDonald's Jakarta, they do not have many vegetarian options but the ones that they do have are very good you could even ask the workers if they could give you rice and soya sauce and they do you can even ask for bubur without the chicken (ayam) but they don't have veg burgers. But the good part of this is that the people over there and abroad like to see the things they are used to or see the things that are different.

https://mcdonalds.co.id/menu
https://www.burgerking.fr/carte
https://www.zomato.com/mumbai/wendys-burgers-fort

Glocalization refers to the process of tailoring products or services to meet the needs of a specific local market while still adhering to the standards and values of the parent company's global brand. This approach allows companies to blend global and local elements, providing consumers with a unique product or service that resonates with their local culture. The advantages of glocalization include increased customer satisfaction, better brand recognition, and higher profits. However, there are also some drawbacks, such as the risk of losing control over the brand's global identity and the high costs associated with adapting products to different markets.

Two companies that have successfully implemented glocalization are McDonald's and Starbucks. McDonald's, for example, has customized its menu to suit the preferences of local consumers in different countries. In India, the company has introduced vegetarian options to cater to the local market, while in Japan, it has added a Teriyaki burger to its menu. Starbucks, on the other hand, has adopted a more localized approach by incorporating local design elements and cultural references into its stores. In China, for instance, the company has introduced a range of teas and pastries that are popular with local consumers.

Overall, the glocalization strategy allows companies to balance the benefits of a global brand with the unique needs and preferences of local markets, providing a competitive advantage and helping to build strong customer relationships.

Glocalization is the process of adapting global products or services to meet the unique needs of local markets. It involves the fusion of globalization and localization, with an emphasis on creating customized offerings that cater to specific cultural, social, and economic factors. The advantages of glocalization include increased customer satisfaction, improved brand recognition, and the ability to penetrate new markets. However, the process can be costly and time-consuming, with the risk of losing the consistency and efficiency of global operations. Two companies that have adopted glocalization are McDonald's and Coca-Cola. McDonald's offers regional menu items based on local preferences, while Coca-Cola adjusts its formula and branding to fit the cultural context of different countries. Their strategy is to balance global standardization with local adaptation to maximize consumer appeal and drive growth.

Glocalization is the mix of two words, Global and Local. This is when global brands are localizing their products to attract more customers and suit the local liking.

This has an advantage as this will connect to the audience better and suit their liking of the product, which will attract many people to buy from these brands.

Sometimes this can also be a disadvantage to these companies, as sometimes people would purchase from these brands to experience the world outside.

An example of these companies would be kit-kat. The kit-kat flavors in japan are much more and have a vast variety of flavors of this chocolate.

Another brand for this would be Dominos. In India, they have pizzas just for the locals such with paneer, to match the liking of their audience.
