         <title>Alcatraz</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div><strong><em>The island of Alcatraz is a big rock situated in the Bay of San Francisco . During the Gold Rush, in the mid 19th century, a fortress was built on the island to defend the city .The fortress later became a military prison.</em></strong></div><div><strong><em>From 1934 to 1963 this prison was turned into a federal penitentiary where dangerous prisoners were sent to be disciplined  like the famous Al Capone.</em></strong></div><div><strong><em>However , in 1962 , three prisoners managed to dig a tunnel out of the prison and swim away. They were never found, and probably drowned or were killed by sharks.  Today, the island is a museum.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The cable car is a tramway with cables. It is a typical example of San Francisco. It was used for the first time in 1873. Of the 23 lines established between 1873 and 1890, only three remain . The tourists often use it because it's one the best way to discover the city effortlessly. The beach lies on the shore of the Pacific Ocean in the northwest of the city. It is roughly a half mile (800 m) long, beginning just south of Golden Gate Point (where the Golden GateBridge connects with the peninsula).          <description><![CDATA[<div>Pier 39 has one of the best views on SF's Bay. It's a shopping center and popular tourist attraction built on a pier. At Pier 39, there are shops, restaurants,  street performances, the Aquarium of the Bay, and a resident colony of 1,000 sea lions that has been basking in the sun on the docks of the marina for more that 20 years.<br> The pier is located at the edge of the Fisherman's Wharf district and is close to North Beach, Chinatown, and the Embarcadero.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The <strong>Palace of Fine Arts</strong> in the Marina District of SF is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama- Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is still situated on its original site. It was rebuilt in 1965, and has got a lagoon and walkways.</div><div>The Palace hosts art exhibitions and remains a popular attraction for tourists and locals.
