Which is violated most often?

Commandment six is violated most by college students. Students constantly use images created by others without proper compensation or credit. In another class I'm taking this semester, we learned about Creative Commpns Licenses and where to find free-to-use images. I did not realize that you can't use any image you find on Google for public work. This is misleading for many students because it is so easy to access these images. College students also tend to pirate movies or shows from websites. This is another violation of the sixth commandment.

This commandment is violated because students don't understand the implications or don't realize their infractions. As stated earlier, I did not realize you can't use any random Google image, even if you cite where it came from. Some images require compensation to be used and are copyrighted. If a student uses an image for public use, they can be sued. Viewing pirated movies and shows harms the entertainment industry. It takes money from production companies and artists depending on the content being pirated.

How to eliminated these violations

Education is the best way to prevent these infractions. After learning about copywriting issues and Creative Commons Licensing, I will no longer look to Google for images. I was provided with other resources such as UnSplash, Flickr, and Vecteezy. These are sites that provide free-to-use images for public use. Taking classes such as this and others teaches students where to obtain these images. It also shows them what to look out for so as to not break this commandment.
