Since there are always two sides of a debate, one side will be for the resolution while the other is against. This way everything is more clearer about how the debate is going to flow and what you are trying to argue about.

While debating, it vital that you let everyone talk and speak their mind. While someone is talking if you interrupt that leaves a bad impression adn the other speakers won't respect you as much as they did before. Treat other speakers the way you would want to be treated.

During the debate, it is important to always be respectful and treat whoever you are debating against with respect. Never insult any speaker's intelligence, but you can build on their argument and prove your point instead without offending anyone.

When speaking it is important to look at the audience while talking. LOoking at notes makes others think that you don't know your topic that well or that you are not prepared. Good things about debates are that they are a place where you can speak your mind, so take advantage of that.

If you want to have a good, solid debate, you have to keep track of time. With most debates there is always a set order. You have to follow a certain amount of time when its your turn to speak so you don't give too much information or say unnecessary things.
