We use posters and have taken part in out-of-school science programmes for girls. However, the media is what shapes a child's picture of the world and parents know how things work. I am doing projects related to STEM with my students. As we are an engineering school, we promote gender equality while teaching STEM subjects by not distinguishing between male and female students, setting the same requirements and tasks. I myself have recently started providing examples and present real life situations or film based scenes that reveal the possibility for girls to become STEM professionals (e.g. pilots).
