Eventually the lead soprano of the Opera and her friend are terrorized to the point where they leave, and a young Christine is given the role, but the soprano returns to claim her role. The ghost like phantom demands Christine be given the role, and continues to terrorize the opera. The Phantom begins to tutor Christine in a way, but conflict arises when an individual falls in love with her, and the Phantom wants her for his own. Christine is torn, but eventually the disfigured and mysterious Phantom wins her over. Throughout the movie the main character sees omens of death by finding dead sheep from their heard. One outcast women takes care of the young girls going through puberty, when they bleed they are punished and sent to her, she is highly emotional and strong compared to the others.
