Hilton is a hotel where business travellers can stay and to be notified when their room is done and they don't need to interact with anyone as they can just click a button, they also deliver good customer service as they know when they can check in and when they can go into their room by making them know what time which also makes it more effective as they can have more staff depending on the busyness of the hotel it also shows customers a 360 view of the room so they can see the room before they go into it to reach their needs, tui allows everyone to book photo shoots or book anything on the ship but has to book through navigate, you don't pay anything with cash so they will use this id and they will pay it at the end of the holiday, airlines have now realise that WIFI is a big impact so some airlines will have free WIFI but some will charge a lot of money depending on the flight, some put the price in the flight, you can even get one on a cruise, some people spend hours in an airport que but now airlines can check in 24 hours before the flight and just go straight to where they leave your luggage which is online, so if you don't have to que people would go shopping and spend money as they have more time which benefits the airport. Birmingham airport have changed their rules due to their new technology by scanning equipment so that you don't have to take anything off or liquids be a certain size making it quicker.

the cost of living crisis are for everyday essentials where it includes bills and food increases as 2022 October they increased by 10%, water, gas and holidays are increasing and many people cant go on the holiday they desire as they spend it all on their bills as there are less disposable income, holidays are more expensive as the airlines fuel/jet fuels has gone up as its risen by 53% , as of brexit people are getting less for their money and the pound is weaker. covid 19 had a supply rate issues making it raise the prices as company's have to find it somewhere like the ukraine war made the people who are relying on uk gas had to find it somewhere else as they increased the prices.

social changes is where its often linked to external factors like Covid-19 where they work from home and still happen to this day as companies find that their employees work better from home as there more active, and in travel and tourism they refer to shifts in consumers behaviours. Older people are living longer so they can go on holiday more and because of the health care they feel healthy enough to go on holiday. The grey market have more money after all of there bills have gone out and most likely have paid their mortgage and having no children they can go on holiday with their disposable income.

Some younger people have more disposable income as they are still living with there parents and don’t need to spend much money, and as they are living with there parents they are starting families later in life meaning that they don’t have young children to spend for so that they can spend leisure activities.Solo traveler’s is someone who travels on their own, and it’s a trend which happens every year where more people are travelling on their own which makes up around 18% of global bookings which have increased 7% and 38% of those who have travelled alone said that they will do it again. hotelscan.com have noticed that there is an increase by 170% for people to book a room for themselves and this has occurred in the last 18 months which the most popular destinations where Peru,Sydney, Thailand, Vietnam and Portugal.

we live in a society where we are always changing so demands as customers are constantly changing their minds but after covid 19 travellers have remembered all of the things they enjoyed from travelling because of the existing trends have accerlated and the trends have emerged , 75% of people want more environment when travelling which were provided by Mintel and the same report suggests that 27% of UK adults agree that the priority is the environment more now after the pandemic, due to people wanting to adopt new practices due to prioritising sustainability 54% of brits bring their own water bottle witch is reusable which increased 22% from 2022, 56% of travellers turn off the air-conditioning off at their stays when they aren't there which increased 33 percent from 2022 and 70% of UK travellers reuse the same towel multiple times which increased by 36% from 2022 there is a things that airlines are doing to become more sustainable including recycling plastic bottles which are sold on flights, 700 tons of single use plastic are eliminated from the flights and the emirates has also been combatting since 2019, and they believe that this could prevent over 80 million single use items from ending in landfills, they also have replaced plastic straws with either metal or paper as its better for the environment as they did the same with bags they replaced it with paper bags for inflight purchases. in addition to this jet engines are currently powered by kerosene which is bad for the environment however some airlines are invested in sustainable aviation fuel which is made from renewable sources such as waste, non food crop and algae, virgin Atlantic made history by flying from London to new York on November 28th 2023 by using 100% sustainable aviation fuel which is a massive step towards decarbonising travel, the premier inn has been working towards their hotel’s sustainability they have done this as they grew their portfolio of properties by removing gas connections to its hotels by 2040, last year they have opened an new hotel in Swindon which uses rentable electricity they did this by using solar panels so that it doesn’t use gas.

Well done Lily, you have been able to describe the different factors that have shaped the UK Travel and Tourism industry. You demonstrated good understanding and included some excellent detail for some of your factors. I would have liked to have seen some pictures or for you to break the assignment up a bit into different topics as you covered a lot within your paragraphs. You have achieved a distinction - well done
