This cute website describes the different Gods and Goddesses. It also gives more information about their symbols and their temples. It provides many options for students to go further in their research, such as being able to click on different links to look more in-depth into the temples. I chose this website specifically as I liked how direct it was without feeling like you are just reading facts on a screen. It breaks up the information with pictures and little tidbits of information that you wouldn't get from reading a textbook or a historical website.

Word Search

This activity will help students work on the spelling of the different names while also giving their brains a break from the information overload. I chose a word search as it can be used for all ages. Students can choose to work on this as a reward for finishing all of the reading and videos, or they can take a break mid research and do something a little more relaxing while still staying on topic.

I chose this as I thought it was a cute graphic that goes more into the family tree and how everyone is connected in the Greek Myths. This shows all of the different Gods and Goddesses as well as the Titian and the Primordial Gods. I especially liked how it highlighted that different Goddesses were born from sea foam or Zeus's brain. This is a fun activity where students can visually see all of the connections between all of the Myths and how it is all one big family unit broken into different parts.

The Odyssey

I added this as it would tie into different classes and background knowledge. Depending on the grade and the way he school is run students would have either read this book in English class, are going to read the book, or what I would hope for is that they are currently reading the book. This would help to give context to what they are reading. I provide a link to the book so that they can look over the different chapters and sections of the book and see how it connects to Greek Mythology and how all of the myths are intertwined into this one novel.

EPIC The Musical

I added this musical as it is a retelling of the Odyssey. It was written in modern times and changes the story slightly, but for the most part, it follows the story of Odysseus and his journey back home. I think this is a fun addition as it gives students something to listen to if they are more auditorial in their learning. I also just love the songs and the message behind all of them. Every piece of the song down to a specific guitar melody has a role and a purpose, nothing is by mistake. I think the students would not only learn from a first-person point of view how the Odyssey went down but also gain some important knowledge about how it's the little things that build to create something huge.

I added this activity as it is a fun and simple way to see how the Greeks lived. The students can plan as a leaders of a Greek Island. The battle other islands, choose the God or Goddesses they want their people to worship, and design a city that works for them. It is a cute addition that gives them a more hands on approach to how Greece was run.
