American citizens are becoming more like the characters in the novel Brave New World. Americans are becoming more egotistical, do not care about those around them and are not united. Despite the United States, being the diverse country it is, many may not agree with the idea that immigrants have the right to live here. Americans are racist and cannot see past the flaws of an individual which has deteriorated society as a whole.

The mockery made him feel an outsider; and feeling an outsider he behaved like one, which increased the prejudice against him and intensified the contempt and hostility aroused by his physical defects. Which in turn increased his sense of being alien and alone. A chronic fear of being slighted made him avoid his equals, made him stand, where his inferiors were concerned, self-consciously on his dignity. How bitterly he envied men like Henry Foster and Benito Hoover! Men who never had to shout at an Epsilon to get an order obeyed; men who took their position for granted; men who moved through the caste system as a fish through water—so utterly at home as to be unaware either of themselves or of the beneficent and comfortable element in which they had their being.

The divisions and discrimination of castes:
All castes are conditioned to be content with what caste they are in. But the higher castes are also conditioned to despise the lower ones and believe they are very fortunate to be a beta or alpha. This is why Lenina always talks about why she is so glad she is a beta and not an epsilon. The lower castes work harder but they are conditioned to be happy with what they do, so there is never any rebellion because each caste believes that they are happy with what they do.

Isolation:
In this society, isolation is unheard of and people are trained to be personable and not hold secrets. This is why they are conditioned to say "everyone belongs to everyone else" so that they never feel isolated from people. Bernard is a good example of the opposite of how people are conditioned to be and Lenina is a prime example of what humans in this world are supposed to act like. She has relationships with everyone and knows everyone and never holds secrets. Bernard on the other hand is the direct opposite and likes to be alone which is not what people are trained to be like.
