While working in these groups the kids will draw, trace, redraw, break the whole into smaller segments, and ask questions of each other; "How did you get that?"  Some groups do come up with the correct answer.

There are many ways to solve the problem. But when I show them how to label all the intersections like it is done in math class, then the light goes on. They must use what they already know and apply it to the task at hand.
