Although school was pretty challenging for me, I did enjoy it quite a bit. Especially the social side and all of the extra corricular and sport activities that were offered which kept me engaged and striving for the best. I grew friendships that to this day, are stronger than ever and I learnt so many life lessons which were fundamental to the person I have become.

I come from a family of 4 with two hard working parents and an older brother who has taught me to be competitive and has kept me on my toes. Being the youngest has its pros and cons. One pro being that my older brother would take the blame for everything and one con being that I was an easy target. Everything I dreamed to do growing up, my parents always did what had to be done to make it a reality for me. Life lessons and experiences which has shaped me into the person I am today and will keep with me for the rest of my life.

Growing up, some would say I was the child who could never sit still. I won't deny it. I loved (still love) being outdoors and going on adventures and participating in every sport you could imagine. A few including Dance, Karate, Swimming, Netball, Water Polo and Touch football. With sport comes a very high risk of injury. In saying that, I was also the kid who would always get injured and I seem to not yet grown out of that phase. I have a love-hate relationship with the ol' moon boot and crutches.

When completing my HSC in 2016, I was so wrapped up in trying to get a good enough ATAR to make it into the university degree I wanted to pursue. I then discovered that I working myself up was not the best thing to do. I was very confused and stressed which purely came from the lack of knowledge I had and the huge 'High ATAR Stereotype' that everyone was frothing over. When the ATAR's came out, I didn't get into the course I wanted so I chose to study a different degree. Right away I knew that it wasn't for me but i stuck the whole year out just to make sure. With university being a whole new thing to me, I learnt that there are so many options and pathways one can take to reach their destination and there is so much time to do so.

After trying out Uni for a year, I decided to take a step back and start to work to build up my life experiences and to expand my knowledge on what's out there in the world as life outside of school was something I was not familiar with. I then took 2 years off and was so lucky to have had so many amazing job opportunities and life experiences.

Just when I thought I was heading into the right direction and looking straight down the path I wanted to take, I was stopped right in my tracks with many different health scares with one being a major sport injury to my foot that required a massive surgery. I was at my lowest of the lows. With my netball career deminishing and my dreams of going to the intensity of police college out of the picture, I was lost. In easy words, I completely ruined the structural integrity of my midfoot and had to get a fusion of more than half of my midfoot. This required a crazy amount of surgical plates and screws and more than a year of recovery, with six months completely non weight bearing on that foot. I was not myself primarily due to the fact that me; the kid that can't sit still; had to stay pretty much dormant for a year. the sun did come out though. When I was able to work up my strength again and after a grueling few months of learning how to walk again, I was beginning to feel a boost in my energy and I was back before I knew it.

Here I am today! Starting up Uni again with a game plan to become a Paramedic. When I was injured I got to see first hand what it is like to be a Paramedic and I was given insight into what their lives are like. From that day on I knew that I jad to be one of them. I am so excited to see what the future has in stall for me and ready to give it my all.
