Redon started drawing as a young child. 

At the age of 10 he was given a drawing prize at school. 

He is known for printmaking. 

In the 1890s, Redon began exploring the putting pictures into your mind off the Noirs in color before giving up lithography completely after the turn of the century to focus on oil paintings and pastels. 

Redon is one of the most important and original of all the Symbolist artists. His intelligent works concern the world of dreams, fantasy, and the imagination.
