Idea of Transport Hubs as Learning Environment (Use Geography concept)

I would like to propose that hallways, common areas, or open zones between classrooms—that are transformed into active learning environments or hubs. These areas are no longer just for movement; they become extensions of the classroom, supporting exploration, collaboration, and creativity.

Learning Objectives

Reinforce systems thinking—how parts connect (e.g., transport systems, ecosystems, grammar).

Promote self-directed learning: learners can choose their path and “travel” between zones.

Support interdisciplinary connections, especially around Geography, Math, Languages, and Science.

Provide rich visual and experiential learning opportunities in a daily-use space.

We identify key corridors, landings for such active learning environments. The one we can actually see but not well integrated would be the Makers' Lab to the Odyssey space shared by Science and Math and this should extend to the corridor towards the library for languages. The wall mural is the learning hub of poems etc.

Something sustainable. The exciting corridor (much like the idea of railway corridors) nature and school blends (develop the eco-aquarium and the herb garden area. Probably a space for students to meet to chat, to be inspired.

The space where student congregate and you can almost visualise the thoroughfare: Select a location where:

Students regularly transition between classes, the canteen, library, or hall.

Teachers and visitors naturally pass through, increasing the impact of displays.

There is ample wall and floor space for activities and installations.

The possible core areas (hubs) could be level 3, near the hall, activity deck (near NYPS cafe), Odyssey Corner and KRC staffroom and possibly the CRC LEVEL 5 from PAL room to Verbal Arts Room should have the idea of linked spaces. Borrow the concepts of "transport hubs" from geography.

Perhaps near the PAL should be to promote arts / culture that is uniquely NYPS.

Perhaps CRC level 3 from the staffroom to Interaction Room should be learning spaces of our NYPS history.

Just suggestions.
