Project 1: Endangered Species and Why We Should Take More Notice of It

I want to bring to you a universal problem that we should always pay attention to. It is endangered animals. The subject might not sound important, but it is vital to every single thing that we do. The food web is what supports every living thing. Plants take in sunlight, plant-eating animals eat them, which are killed by different types of carnivores. Lastly, the carnivores are eaten by birds of prey, animals at the top of the food chain, and humans.

Some endangered species are: the tiger, sea otter, snow leopard, and the Tasmanian devil. They are crucial. For instance, if the tigers died out, what would happen? My guess is that the animals that tigers eat would populate even more, since one of their main predators are extinct. They would eat most of the grass, plants, and soon there would be no more plants. We need oxygen, and trees make them, also including other plants. Without the trees, we would have no oxygen, and so WE would die out. This may not happen, but it is an alternative.

Same for the otters. Once, fishermen caught so many that they nearly grew extinct. Their prey, sea urchins, populated and ate seaweed, which died, decreasing the number of fish. With such limited amount of them, the government banned capturing and killing sea otters (or they made it so that the use of it was vastly stopped) and then everything went back to normal. The animals may fight and kill each other, but they are the same; if one species of animal went extinct, everything would be thrown out of balance!

So you see, this is why people should pay more attention to endangered animals, if they want to live. If they help animals, they can live a fuller and more peaceful life, not worrying about having too little oxygen. Plus, they'll feel a lot better since they know that they helped show that they are fit to live by helping the environment. The animals would be happy, too!
