To test your understanding, you are required to find a story page in a local newspaper of 2017. Similar to the previous task, select one page that has more than one story. Take a picture and share on padlet what do you think about the page design. Is it good or bad? What would you suggest to make it more attractive?

The grid is made up of vertical lines and is the foundation of every type of visual media. It also shape the content of the news into proportions. The readers feel comfort and give the pleasing design for the eye. The page design for this broadsheet use a variety of grids. The news shaped in modular design which form in the rectangular units. There also consist the use of ears which give some extra information to the readers. The headline is suitable which act as main attraction for the broadsheet. There are two photos which one the biggest photo act as the dominant image. The arrangement and design for this broadsheet are quite good and give some interesting attraction for the readers to read and understand it in proper way.

In my opinion, this story have a good idea, because they make the story is very simple for understand. it has cover the one story only. They use the vertical and horizontal grids for picture and follow the rectangle shape as well. There also have a many of picture used to describe the story very well. We also can look the boxing story that using by the info as well. But, in design arrangement, there have some lack of design. The first one is, we cannot to justify where is the dominant picture is that focusing in the story. They also not use the specific headline to show what the topic is about. Overall, the story can more be effectively when they use the sub element that I suggested. Thank you

In my opinion, this page design is quite nice and simple. The larger image and headline of news are the dominant story. However, they also used larger bolder text, catchy words and summary lead for main headline to attract the readers' attention. This newspaper using the modular page design. The arrangement of page design are very simple. It contains four of modules. Moreover, this page design not too crowded and it would be more eyes catching for the readers. For my suggestion, in this newspaper can add the ears to calling attention and also add one or two more stories in front this page. Overall, this page design is quite good for reader.

Based on the newspaper that I have selected, my view about page design for KOSMO is it looks nice, simple and neatly organized. It is also looks not too crowded and makes the readers feel comfortable to read it based on the way they structured the modules. It provides the structure that keeps elements evenly aligned. The grid made up of horizontal lines and is the foundation of nearly every type of visual media. The structure is there to shape the content into its proportions and pleasing to the eye. Next, this page grid refers to tabloid grid. It is roughly half the size of broadsheet. Besides, it attracts people with sensational headlines and news. It is also popular with readers and handier. After that, the news shaped in modular design which is form in rectangular units. This modular design is the idea of treating stories as modules. Moreover, there is some teaser on the right hand corner to attract and get focal readers’ attention. Nevertheless, there is some jump stories located on this tabloid design. We must avoid jump stories because of inconvenience of turning the pages, locating the continuation and difficulty to newspaper’s readers to find and search it on another pages.

The nameplate of the newspaper also known as “flag” sets the basic image of the publication which must clean, distinctive and uncluttered. It uses a 4-column grid format. It is also comes out with a dominant story. Then, the page design has a different size and color of headline. After that, there have a three main story design and a teaser in front page design which readers can choose news they want to read. The main story uses a catchy and easy word to understand. The photo is in rectangular shape and the modular page design is in rectangular units. My suggestion to make this page design more attractive, the designer must avoid jump stories because of the inconvenience of turning the pages and locating the continuation. Then, use the ears in calling attention in front page to attract readers also emphasize what is more important.

In my opinion, I can say that this local newspaper fulfills the rules of story design which is have musthead, teaser and ads. The editor also use 5 modular design to arrange the news. The arrangement not too messy and confused to reader. I think this story design is quite suitable to attract reader. This newspaper also have a few photos and not too much text to make the readers easy to read. They also emphasize what is important story in this newspaper with different font size of headline, different colours and bold. As we can see this tabloid is pleasing to the eye and not crowded for the reader to read.

I think this newspaper is unorganised pictures which is a lot of teaser they put.  But in interesting subtitles on the teaser, so it can attract the readers to read this newspaper. Then, this newspaper also have dominant picture that highlighted an important story. They used a vertical shape in a dominant picture and under the story have a summary text of photo and use a jumped story.  Lastly, they have 6 modules to arrange the news. In conclusion, I think this design of the front page must improve their arrangement of pictures  in terms of sizes. Thank you.

In my opinion, this newspaper it is chaos but it in modular design.  So it is hard to attract the reader to read. Front page is important to get focal attention. In this newspaper story it in rectangular unit but it is so many story headline. So it is confused to aim the headline. In designing the page, we must avoid many headline of the same size on page.  So, it can easy to attract people to read the newspaper.

The front page is very important since it is the first overall view. For the first time, readers will see at the front page rather than go through the story inside.
