  • Learnt many digital tools,
  • PBL group was the heart of the ONL course
  • Cultural and diversity experience was very good
  • A safe place to express ideas, feeling of well respected to opinions.
  • Dynamics of PBL group working was facilitating
  • Feeling of being an owner and be respected for that
  • When designing courses, fun element is usually missing and PBL group teaches you to add fun element to it
  •  Group work results in joining the reading effort, literature review by different members of the group results in much better hypothesizes proving
  • One of the key takeaway was the PBL itself. using it in even face2face scenarios will be interesting. Especially the idea of using real world scenarios
  • Learning the importance of facilitation and realizing this via the PBL group

    One group experienced lost quite a few members, but despite this everyone participated. 
    Other group ended up four then increased to 5; worked well asynch. but didn't connect that often as a group.
    Third member didn't feel good about facilitators as they were not present that often, with participants not there often.
    Had some silent learners that needed input from facilitators, which needed input from group to nudge.
    Being asked to try and play was a great motivator.
    Giving more time to explain in the beginning about PBL.

  • Mutual support
  • Time management
  • good community atmosphere important
  • Dropouts
  • Literature supplied was useful and interesting for course design
  • Overwhelming when filtering information
  • Students need to be responsible for their learning (spoon-feeding is less easy)
  • The community orientation of this type of learning requires support to members via email to encourage them in need.
  • There are lots of tools - many free and easy to use suggesting that the cost of technology and online teaching media is not as expensive as initially thought.

Also, we learnt a lot about what collaboration means, and what social processes that develops for collaboration.
    Theory into practice - a lot of new things learnt and the group was fundamental for this.
    The group discussion can go in many directions, but we've mainly been able to get back to focus.
    Also tried many new digital tools to incorporate inte our own practice.

    2) International and meeting with people we wouldn't have met otherwise. 
    3) Feedback. 
    4) Kept you motivated to actually do the work. 
    5) The meetings were valuable in accessing other's knowledge and experiences. Always something added from the other participants which I had not thought about. 
    6) Flexible and nice course design with possibility to set your own goals as an individual and group. We share the same experiene but there are still different learning outcomes. 
    7) Appreciated the diversity in the group. 
    8) Good to be encouraged to use and try out different tools.
    9) We will miss our group friends. A feeling of closeness emerged and you did not want to let the group down.
