Slow processing of documents and needed materials in the institutions involved. 

Characterization step was only examined through pictures and given descriptors. Actual eggplant fruits were not available.

Hence, I only settled on buying 3 fruits per accession since other varieties are very expensive.

2. Lack of viable seeds
Since I only limit the purchase to 3 seeds, some of my prior varieties (eg. green bell pepper, Thailand chili) do not have viable seeds.

3. Availability of Unique varieties
I canvassed on different sites and only 4 varieties are available (labuyo, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, pansigang). I was supposed to get shishito peppers and black pepper but the grower said it is not yet available.

4. Weather
It has been raining these past few days hence land preparation and seed planting was difficult. 

5. Soil
We mixed the different potting soil available here plus solarized another set of normal soil just to plant 2 inches of soil per pot. 

6. Overall budget
Adjustment to the setup such as fencing, buying other seeds, soil are a bit hard this days since I still do not have budget for its acquisition. 

7. Environment
There are cats in our yard so we are going to build a fence. 

8. Lack of information from the vendors
