Inequality is a big topic among higher education individuals. These admission scandals show that even universities can contribute to the inequality that individuals face. These inequalities happen even before the individuals get on campus. Educators should see the importance in this topic because it affects the individuals that gain admission into their universities. Individuals admitted improperly may not have the skills or drive to succeed in class.

The parents involved in the cases are, "Charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest-services mail fraud" (Chappell, B., Kennedy, M., p. 8, 2019). These parents sought to cheat the academic system and in some cases they were able to succeed. Those involved in any part of the admission process are at risk of being implicated in these scandals. They must be vigilant during the admission process to avoid scandals such as these.
