In here, you can read stories ( teen-fiction, non-teen fiction, horror, comedy, etc.), poems &  articles and also create and post  on your own. Anyone can write in this page and that's why many people have signed up in order  to express what's on their mind.
Other countries , such as in the Philippines, featured a lot of stories in Wattpad that was also  published due to its creative content and some also became a movie. An example of this was the story that became famous in the Wattpad Philippines which is the "Diary ng Panget" (which means "diary of the ugly") by HaveYouSeenThisGirl that gained 12 million reads and was published by the PSICOM and later, they made it possible to be a movie.
So because of Wattpad, you can gain some benefits in just writing on this application. There are also some other advantages like:

• Kill Boredom
• Free will to write what's on your mind
• Cost Effective
• Can improve your writings especially when the readers will comment for the betterment of your story/poem/article
• Interact with your co-authors.
• Inspire other writers
• Enhance creativity
• You can also learn something especially on the stories

• Some readers may comment in a way that may hurt the feeling of a writer
• There is a comparison with other author's works
• Slow updates that can make the readers upset
• The writers may be pressured in updating their stories because of their reader's comment to make an update. Which can result to a lame story update.
• Difficulty in creating a new scene  in a way that can attract the readers
• If a reader doesn't like your story, he/she will tell it to his/her friends which will cause them not to read it
• Some people, specially the students, have becoming a habit in reading wattpad stories. Thus, it may affect their academic preparation or studies
