In its vicinity there is the church of St. Nicholas founded by Stefan the Great. 
 The city developed as a trade center on the Black Sea route. Crops imported by local farmers were also sold here. Today, life flows quietly here, and the inhabitants deal mainly with small services. There are no large industrial plants here, and the rural surroundings are dominated by arable fields and meadows. 
 Some old buildings in the center have been preserved in Dorohoi. It comes mainly from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The most impressive buildings are the Town Hall in Dorohoi and the Cathedral in Dorohoi, covered with five domes. 
 The most important attractions of Dorohoi are the local museums. The post-Austrian, neoclassical building houses the Museum of Natural Sciences, and in a picturesque wooden house with a garden - the George Enescu Memorial Museum .
