After the war, Lincoln wanted to bring the states back together, but he did not do a very good job. He ended some slavery, and he also divided the southern states into military bases, that helped for a little bit but as soon as the military was removed everything went back to the way it was. The only thing that was different was that there were no more slavery. Just a few weeks ago, I was a slave who had nothing, but now I have a little more.
