Piece by Peace 

Business proposition:

Peace by Piece is an online subscription event, allowing consumers to purchase unique repair kits and tutorials which provides them with the tools they need to restore their garments and make a positive change. Within research we found a gap between intention and ability, with many Gen-z explaining they were unsure how to restore their belongings and as a result opting to buy a replacement. Peace by Piece enables consumers with any ability to learn new life skills with in-depth instructions and tutorials, by showing consumers how to carry out repairs. We can make a big difference to both planet and peoples pockets, reducing the amount of items we send to landfill. 

Why have you chosen this product/service , reasoning behind your decision:

Many young people have stated they would rather repair their items than buy new, but don’t know how to. We want to educate young people and give them the ability to repair their clothes and lower consumption, creating a more sustainable community.

Why is the project important (what problem is it solving?)

At Peace by Piece we aim to reduce consumption and encourage the slow fashion movement, by making it as easy as possible for people to learn how to look after and mend their garments. Learning how to sew could help the planet if we repair our clothes instead of discarding them; waste, pollution, carbon and water footprints could all be reduced drastically. 

Project your purpose/ hope/ goals 

Peace by Pice hopes to inspire young people to mend and maintain their garments and eliminate the stigma that comes with repairing clothes, we aim to do this by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to do so. Our goal is to create a community where people and immerse themselves into an experience which they can practice in their everyday life.
