Finding ways to make structured literacy lessons less monotonous and more engaging: examples: team points using a dice to answer questions, when student is chosen have them shoot a basketball, use different writing tools to practice (boogie boards, shaving cream, paper/pencil, whiteboards)

As a nonclassroom teacher, I try to make sure to use "unexpected/expected" when addressing a behavior. Also, praising students for being attentive, appreciative, respectful, and responsible with purple tickets!

Pointing out kids who are doing the right things instead of always focusing on who isn't. Giving those kids verbal praise who are following expectation.
