The Anemona in Matosinhos, also known as "She Moves" is a striking public art installation created by American artist Janet Echelman in 2005. Suspended by metal posts, the giant net sculpture spans 42 meters in diameter and moves

gracefully with the wind, mimicking the motion of sea anemones.

Originally designed to pay tribute to the fishing community of Matosinhos, the Anemona has become an iconic symbol of the city. It is located in Praça Cidade S. Salvador, a central

and picturesque roundabout in Matosinhos. Over the years,

the sculpture has undergone several restorations

due to wear and vandalism, but it remains a beloved

landmark.

The Palacete de Trevões, also known as the Palacete Visconde de Trevões, is a historical building located in Matosinhos, Portugal. It was built in the early 20th century in a revivalist and eclectic style. The palace was originally the residence of Emídio Ló Ferreira, the first Viscount of Trevões, until his

death in 1942.

After being acquired by the local government, the building

served various purposes, including as an industrial and

commercial school and a municipal library. Today, it houses

the Museu da Memória de Matosinhos, which showcases the history and cultural heritage of the region.

The Visconde de Trevões was Emídio José Ló Ferreira, a notable Portuguese noble man. Born in 1864 in Trevões, S. João da Pesqueira, he emigrated to Brazil, where he amassed significant wealth

through his work in the construction and rubber industries.

Upon returning to Portugal, he made substantial contributions to the community, including founding the Cineteatro Constantino Nery in Matosinhos and supporting various local projects. In recognition of his efforts, he

was granted the title of Visconde de Trevões by King

D. Manuel II on April 29, 1909.

Ló Ferreira was also a Comendador da Ordem de Cristo and a well- known philanthropist. He passed away in 1942, in Vila Real, leaving behind a legacy of community service and cultural contributions.
