It was quite amazing compared to my hometown's auditorium where my high school band performed most of our performances. It was quite elegant and I even noted that it "smelled like a new hotel". The performance itself was great. You could hear the passion behind this music. I could tell that every performer on the stage enjoyed what they were doing. The swift and precise motions of the conductor attested to this theme of passion within this performance hall. I didn't know Beethoven's 7th symphony that well going into this performance but after leaving I definitely appreciate it more than I did. I usually prefer wind orchestras to string orchestras but this ensemble had a great mix of both. Both the french horn and the flute greatly complemented the string instruments at different times in the piece. Though this wasn't my favorite work of Beethoven I definitely appreciate it more now. that I've heard it live.
