Malala was born in Mingora, Pakistan. In Malala’s religion, boys were seen as the more important gender. Ziauddin Yousafzai, Malala’s father always gave her every opportunity a boy was given. When Malala was a young girl, she enjoyed going to school to learn and spend time with her friends. That all changed in 2008, when the Taliban took control of her local village. The Taliban banned many things from their village such as owning a television, playing music and allowing girls to go to school.

In 2012 Malala decided that is was right to speak out publicly for the right of girls to have an education. Malala’s decision to speak publicly about her rights has made her a target of the Taliban. A gunman entered Malala’s bus and questioned, “Who is Malala?” He then shot her in the left side of her head. Malala woke up in a hospital located in England, she was told that everyone around the world were praying for her recovery.

Malala is considered to be a truly radical change agent as she spoke out for equality for females to have the same right to gain an education as males. Many females around the world have taken inspiration from Malala and fought for the right to further their education. Malala is a brave change agent as she knew she was going against the rules of The Taliban and this meant that she would become one of their targets, she was placing her life at jeopardy all for a cause she truly believes in.

Malala lived in a culture and religion where men were the only gender who were able to attend school, woman had to stay home. Malala still strongly believed in her religion and faith but decided that it shouldn’t interfere with her studies. Malala didn’t go against her religion because she didn’t respect it, she wanted to fight for the right of girl’s education. Malala transferred her Islam knowledge about their religion and what each gender is asked to do, to her determination to fight for women.

Malala didn’t agree with the ‘status quo,’ which was that males were the only gender who were able to attend school. Malala decided to challenge the status quo and make a difference. Malala spoke out publicly on behalf of girls and their right to learn. By Malala speaking out it made her a massive target. Malala was on her way home and a gunman asked her “who is Malala?” Malala was then shot in the left side of the head and woke up 10 days later in hospital. Malala spent months on end undergoing surgeries and rehabilitation trying to recover from her attack. As soon as Malala was well enough to get back to her normal routines, she continued to fight for the right of girls attending school. There are now 130 million girls that attend school, but the fight is still not over.

Malala believed strongly that females should have a choice to study or not. She worked hard to transform attitudes that males and females should have the same opportunity to study depending on a person’s choice not based on their gender. While Malala was fighting for the equality for females to have the same right to gain an education as males, she may have offended all males. Some males could have been offended because they agree that men should be the only gender who deserve to have rights and an education.

Malala has encouraged people to have an open mind on situations as people now are becoming more open minded on the importance and right to females receiving an education. Malala is fighting for the rights of all females to attend educational sites to gain an education, just like males. Malala risked her own safety by speaking out publicly against the Taliban. She wasn’t satisfied with herself accessing an education she believed strongly in fighting for all young and old females. Females have a right to further their knowledge and skills by having the choice to attend a school or university.

Malala’s story has inspired me and many other women to stand up for themselves. I believe that everyone should stand up for themselves as every gender has the right to share what they believe. Malala is an inspiring change agent as she did not give up until she got what she deserved. She didn’t drop her head until every female had the right to have as much of an education as males do. Many females now feel comfortable speaking their opinion and are not embarrassed to share what they think. Malala has inspired me to fight for what I believe. If I come across something in life that I strongly believe in, I should fight for it, not let it disappear. I know look at the world, not being afraid of what comes ahead and not to give up even if it gets tough and there are obstacles.

Malala did many great things to help the community and making it right for girls to get an education which made her perfect. In 2012 when Malala received Bullet to the left side of her head, it made her quite famous. Malala could be seen as less than perfect because after being shot she received a Nobel peace prize. Many young girls and boys all around the world go through much worse every day and is not receiving anything special to acknowledge what they have been through.
