What about the Setting has peaked my interest

One thing in the story that has peaked my interest is the court room. When they are first walking into the court room, the people are throwing things at her because they don't like her side of the story and feel that she should be marked as flawed. Again, as they walked out there were people spitting and throwing things at Celestine even though she has only stated that she thinks she is innocent

Who is the Narrator of the story? Is he or she believable?

The story "Flawed" is told through the eyes of celestine. We see everything that happens in the book through her eyes.Although everything that we see happen in the book is believable, there is no guarantee that she is telling the truth because we are limited to her perspective and all we know is what she sees and thinks about situations and scenes in the book.

Discuss the pace of the text. How does that impact your enjoyment of the story?

The pace of the text is fast. Not so fast that the reader cannot keep up and gets lost, but fast to a point where it is engaging and understandable. If the author did not include the details like she has, the story would go too quickly and be boring. I feel that the book could be read at a moderate pace and would feel like I got the message that is supposed to be given. Personally I feel that this is a great book that I enjoy reading. It keeps me engrossed at all times and interested in every little part. I feel that there has not been one boring part of the book so far.

How effectively does the author use sensory detail to create image?

The author does a good job of creating an image by using dialogue and text throughout the book. I can clearly create an image in my head while reading this book because of the way that she words certain situations. When celestine's father is describing the media and how many people are outside of the school, I can easily form an image in my head of how many people are actually outside the school. Cecelia does a great job of using sensory details to create image.

While I was reading chapters 32 and 33, I saw a lack of fear in celestine when she was forced to be interviewed and answer questions about her situation. I was expecting her to be scared of talking about her brandings because she might break down in tears, but she surprisingly went into the interview very brave and determined to not give her good content to put in the papers. what surprised me the most, however, was when she exposed that she had six brandings instead of five.

So far in the reading i have learned that in all reality, everybody is flawed no matter what. In the book it is clear that everybody has something wrong with them but the government doesn't classify certain things as flawed. celestine's "friends" I would classified as flawed because they terrorized celestine in the shed because she was flawed. The government doesn't see that as flawed though, because they don't care how the flawed are treated.

WHat are the moments that define a character you've connected to?

One moment that defines Celestine that i can connect with are when Celestine sees Art with her sister and her heart breaks. She was shattered by the fact that Art has been hiding and hasn't done anything to talk to Celestine or see her in person. Even more the fact that he has been spending time with Juniper.
I can relate because i have had my heart broken by people in the past because of something they did or didn't do.

Near the beginning of the book, I was very surprised to see that it appeared that everyone was oblivious of the unfair circumstances in celestine's case. However, In the recent chapters That I have read, it appears that the teacher and more officials are realizing that the government and other people are corrupt and may as well be flawed. It makes me wonder if people are slowly becoming more aware of the situation that celestine is in and how unjust it really is.
