I also think that the test requires the students to read on grade level, which a majority of my students cannot. They may have excellent decoding skills but they are unable to comprehend fully what they are reading. Literal comprehension might be present but when it comes to understanding questions that goes beyond the text that's where they struggle. They also have limited vocabulary skills with impacts their comprehension severely. Many of the students become overwhelmed when they see large amount of reading in front of them and do not read.
