Our students should use their VOICES every single day in our classrooms whether it be through speaking aloud about a text, asking questions to their peers or teacher, or writing in response to their reading. That means we have to commit time in our lesson plans and create a safe space in our classrooms!

I believe that all ELA teachers across the district should commit to teaching to every type of learner in their classroom. Have a visual presentation for visual learners, a written assignment, a mini lecture for audio learners and a hands on activity. Teachers should also incorporate test items daily to build a routine.

We can commit to creating lessons that are exiting for us to teach and would have an impact on students personally and professionally. This would take time, creativity, and collaboration to create the most dynamic lessons of all time!!

As language arts educators, we should ensure that all aspects of the lesson plans are utilized in the classroom and are not just words on paper. We should create lesson plans that are thought provoking. Every learner should be addressed somewhere within the lesson.
