10th February 2018, Chapel of Christ the King closed its door for a new palace. Chapel of Christ the King is located in Bandar Baru Selayang colloquially known as BBS among locals is a rather new township. This chapel was established in the year 1967 and mass were celebrated every month. After a decade, a proper building was built to worship and praise God. Exactly after 40 years, 3 months and 20 days, this small majestic palace filled with ordinary people with royal hearts close its doors once again. The main objective of this shut down is mainly for refurbishment due to safety concern.
A little about the royal community-it consists of English and Tamil speaking citizens. These two parties with different skin tone, different language and different sense of fashion yet prefer having one bilingual mass every week in the name of God for the past 40 years. Can u sense the unity between them? “Love” as the key of unity has brought them this close with one and another.
It was a bittersweet moment when we,the parishioners got to know that our palace will be closed temporarily for a good purpose. Therefore, the members of Christ The King had a small fellowship after the last mass was celebrated for the last time in the old building. Many type of food and activities were held before bidding farewell. It was definitely a very touching moment went the lights near the altar were off by the church chairman, Mr. Melvin Moses.
The renovation will take place as soon as possible and it will be spearheaded by our God sent shepherd, Rev Father Alan Pereira and our very own dedicated building committee. Parishioners of Christ The King is looking forward for the new upcoming building. Till then all of us bid farewell to the old one and looking forward to our new palace called Chapel of Christ The King.

From ABC to Adrenocorticotropic hormone! Wait, what???

Do u remember the struggles u go through merely to say ABC, the time you started writing those letters? I bet all of us had butterflies in our stomach when we first took our step into kindergarten. Some might even have sobbed or quietly teared. As days go by things would have been fine. Teachers and friends would have been the whole world; opps! I'm sorry not for everyone. As for me, teacher and friends were my morning acquaintances while my family meant the world to me. What's childhood without neighbors and sibling(s)? If you're a 90's kids, 5 o'clock would have been the best hour of the day. When the clock strikes 5, locks get unlocked, gates wide open and we'll definitely we will grin ear to ear. Outdoor games were definitely something all of us love back then. I wonder how kids nowadays just lock themselves in merely to play the games using their are devices? I feel sorry for them as technology had took over their exciting childhood. "You're going to go to a bigger school" is something we would have heard from someone when we are in the midst of enjoying our year-end break at the age of 6. Oh! School shopping was everything. From uniforms and shoes up to stationery were new. Some of felt anxious while some of us would have kept calm while a number of parents boohoo as they get worried about the fact that their children will be away from them. The first thing they would teach their children is 'How to queue up and buy food in the canteen'. In addition, morning alarm was the worst part of life on the contrary the last school bell goes was the best sound in the entire world. So life just passed so swiftly and when we realize we have to sit for a public exam known as UPSR, in short, we freak out. It's time to focus on academic and we no longer get to spend time running around the classroom or school compound.A life of books was truly devastating. As we end one major battle, comes the second one, secondary school, it felt as though school and tuition are the places we spent most of our day. Then comes SPM, another major examination which said to determine Malaysians future. When it ends, students scream out "Merdeka... Merdeka.... " which means freedom because school life has come to an end. A chapter of life is closed after 11 years filled with challenges and hardship together with sweet moments with friends. After almost 4 months of break, results will be handed over to the ex-students. "Caught you" now you got to start your tertiary studies where life becomes more challenging. Life gets even tough;you will come across with new terms and complicated formulas. For instance, Adrenocorticotropic hormone and Exophthalmic Goiter. To sum up,life never gets easier, you just get stronger. With assignments and examinations, I sign off for this week. See y'all next week with more exciting articles.

GET FIT IN THE GYM LOSE WEIGHT IN THE KITCHEN.

There's a saying that goes "Get fit in the gym, lose weight in the kitchen". This is one of my favorite quote of all time. It keeps me to stay on track. In order to get in shape, we got to be consistent. Yes, all human on earth deserve to have cheat days or cheat meals but make sure it does not turn your success into failure. Take note skipping meals is not the right thing to do. Try to eat smaller portion meals on time to avoid being diagnosed with Gastritis. Did you know switching to smaller plates help us eat less? For Malaysians, try using cutleries instead using your hands. It help you to consume less food at a time. Cut down as much of fast food and junk food as you can.

Besides our lifestyle in the kitchen, we also need to focus on burning those calories we build up daily. Exercise is the best way to burn all the extra fats. You can either hit the gym or workout at home. Well, I prefer to workout at home daily and hit the gym occasionally. Tuck in those tummies, kill those extra calories, tighten the lose arms, get fit and stay healthy by just sweating.Oh, I almost forgot! Stay focus and always have a positive mindset. Patience is the key to achieve your body goals. People out there will criticise and mock you. The best revenge is not to argue but to proof them wrong. Gambateh!

p/s: I'm still working on to lose those 6 kgs that I gained during Christmas 2017.

Weight loss hacks!

INDOOR HEATING MAY MAKE YOU FATTER.

Hmmm.... I guess I have an answer why I am gaining weight nowadays especially after enrolling myself in a university located in Cyberjaya. According to Readers Digest June 2012 edition, people tend to put on weight when they live in a hotter environment. Why is that so? We have two type of fats in our body namely brown fat and white fat. White fat stores energy and sits around the stomach and thighs which leads to belly fat and inner thigh fat. On the other hand, we have brown fats which burn energy. If you have heard the term homeostasis, understanding thermal regulation will be easier because brown fat is closely related to it. Briefly, thermal regulation is a mechanism which controls our body temperature. Brown fat is located around our chest and neck. Therefore, when our body detects a drop in temperature in the environment, it quickly triggers our body to switch on the negative feedback mechanism to increase our body temperature. So here is where our "Superhero" (brown fat) comes into the picture. Brown Fat acts as a "mini-furnace" it burns energy from white adipose cells. In contrary, if we stay in a hot environment we less likely lose adipose cells which leads to weight gain.Try wearing light clothing and stay in an air-conditioned room for a few hours daily and you will see a slight difference in your weighing scale. According to my research, consuming avocados help you lose weight because it contains good fats. In short, staying in cold place can be super beneficial.
That is all for now. Thanks for reading.

The World Beneath: A Cave Exploration

Gua Tempurung is one of the top 10 cave in Malaysia, well-liked cavern among locals is located in Gopeng, Perak. A little historical background about this cavern: It is the largest limestone cave in Peninsular Malaysia with unique shapes of stalactites and stalagmites in it. This cave is just as our digestive system, "Tube within tube" structure that means there are only one entrance and an exit. Entrance resembles our mouth then we travel through the esophagus, esophageal sphincter, stomach (the cold, clean and unstill water resembles our gastric juice); intestines (where most stalactites are found) and finally rectum (exit). Let me take you into the deep, dark and hidden world.
It was five in the morning that my most unbearable alarm rang, it was not as other days where I make a fuss to wake up; this time I woke up with a smile and was all set to leave my lodge to explore "Gua Tempurung". After checking our attendance, we got into the bus and left Cyberjaya at 7 a.m. to be on time in Gopeng, Perak. It was a three hours journey so many of the participants dozed off while I stayed awake merely to enjoy the sceneries along the roadside via the windscreen of the bus. Thankfully, I had my earphones with me, if not the whole destination would have been spiritless since my friend slept for the whole journey.
The journey ended, all of us arrived at Gua Tempurung, and we served fried rice before we proceed to the next agenda. Unfortunately, I had nothing to eat since I am on a keto diet and it was difficult to explain to the organizers on why I refuse to consume the refreshment provided. After our breakfast session, we had warm-up session to get our body prepared before the battle begins.
Safety first! "Helmet on and buckle it up," says the person in charge so we did. As usual, we had a short briefing on rules and regulations before we proceed to the major activity caving. A fit young man was appointed as a ranger for our group. He was very sophisticated about the cavern because he knew the place since he was 12 years old. He brought us into the cave and storied us about the history of the place and the purpose of the cave back then in the olden days.

He warned us that there would be five platforms before we exit the cave and there is no turning back nor shortcut out of the cave. Therefore, we had to go through all the struggles to get out of the cave. It was more like a game to me.
After walking up the stairs for about 7 minutes, we run out of energy, everyone was trying their level best to catch the breath. However, as we moved from one platform to another, we could adapt to it (of course we had our drinking water to supply oxygen to respire). The difficulty level in platform one to three was moderate while platform four onwards was extremely challenging and it is known as the "Grand Tour". We had to crawl through the deep, dark and windy tunnel. Trust me, I had no fear because I'm a very adventurous person. Besides, crawling through the tunnel filled with flowing cold, clean water, we had to slide down a slope. Well, it took me back to my childhood days. Not only that, we also had to go through a hole to get into the phase if the cave.
After utilizing all our energy for the past three hours, we got out of the cavern via an exit. Photosession took place as all of us were so proud of ourselves. To clean and freshen ourselves, we went to the lavatory.
We then left "Gua Tempurung" and returned to Cyberjaya. It was indeed a great day.

Foundation students were appointed to carry out a charity sale on 14th March 2017 to raise fund to purchase items for volunteerism. We, 12E students communicated via Whatsapp to come up with ideas for this event. Although we could not conduct a proper meeting due to our busy schedule, we worked hand-in-hand by brainstorming ideas through this amazing app which ease all of our lives in this modern era.
After almost a month, we decide to raise fund by selling “Hijabs”-also known as shawl mostly used by our Muslim friends. Besides, we also agreed to sell “Nasi Lemak”-who would say no to this famous Malaysia cuisine? We segregated our jobs, each of us was in charge of each element of the savory food. For the main element which is “coconut rice”- we planned to cook it in our campus itself an hour before the event. This is to ensure our customers get a nice hot plate of Nasi Lemak. We also sold some cupcakes, crepe cakes and also our ‘Hot Selling’ item-the chocolate chips cookies. It was a big as Sunway cookies. All of the food was sold at affordable price.
Not forgetting our game section, we had UNO cards, the chess game for our customers. We had ‘Henna’ booth as well.
Everyone cooperated well. All 12E members contributed as much as they could in making this event a successful one.
All our hard work paid off as e gained a large amount of money. We got a sum of RM 438. All of us were dead tired yet glad that we could contribute a little to reach out to the poor.

Life is full of surprises. I'm expecting for the best time of my life in the next five years. My childhood days were the best phase of my life. Never a day I had to worry about myself and my surrounding. Everything was provided; food, clothes, shelter and most importantly "Love". I taught life would be fine as I grew up. I was wrong.

Coming back to our topic. Like most of the students here, I wish to see myself as a successful person in my career. To be a doctor in future would probably my dream come true. I am definitely not aiming to be a doctor merely to get the title "Dr". My main motive of becoming a doctor is to contribute a little in others life. I was given opportunities to look after many patients when I was young. From cardiovascular diseased patients up to stroke patients and even a cancer patient. The most painful thing in life is to lose them even after giving them the best we could. Long story short, we could do our best but it is the Almighty that will do the rest.

I can't deny, as all girls, I too want to have a fairytale wedding. To be honest, I don't usually talk much about my hopes and expectation of my wedding nor my future partner. The only thing I get excited is when I watch this show called "Say Yes To The Dress". Those ball gowns are absolutely perfect for any girls. In my humble opinion, every girl should try on a ball gown, its a once in a lifetime opportunity. To be frank, I am not excited about matrimony. So let's move on to another chapter which I am looking forward; that is to travel around the world or within Malaysia itself. I got to agree that Malaysia has many attractive places to visit. If only I had time and some amount of cash for me to visit those places at this young and active adolescent stage.

Lastly, I am not only focusing on being successful career-wise nor exploring the world out there. I am also looking forward to be a better person in life. The world is definitely a temporary place while there is an eternal life after living an earthly life on this planet. We would not know when our life would end. It may be anytime soon or it can be when you are old and feeble. So, I am going to change myself in the next five years not only to step into next phase of life but also to make this world a better place. To bring peace, harmony and to destroy hatred into the world in future.
