June 26th,  501 B.C:
Education in Athens is very important. As a girl, I get taught to run a home, cooking, and sewing. Dan gets to go to high school, because we are nobles. Dan gets to learn poetry, public speaking, and many more.

Then my mom said, "Go help me in the kitchen".

June 27th,  501 B.C:
Today I'll teach you about our daily lives Spartans. I help my mom cook and clean all day. Dan goes to high school. My dad goes to work and shops. Females are rarely in public.

June 28th, 501 B.C:
We highly value religion and the arts. The gods and goddesses are very important. The arts are the heart of Athens.
"Kyra no more journal", said my mom.

June 29th, 501 B.C:
Athens is surrounded by many mountains. We are away from the other city-states, even Sparta. Greece is very amazing, but getting around is hard.

Finally, my role in Athens is to learn from my mother in the house and one day to grow up to do what my mother does.

Basically what is warrior mom is that your mom gets to learn how to fight. Mom doesn't really get to leave the house and my dad goes and works with army and train for war. The slaves that we have work on the farm. One of them are my best friend, his name is Fred. He works hard every day so we can eat. Also today my brothers go to the market place almost every day, what I hear is that all they do is sell stuff and get money. I think it is pretty cool and a easy way to get money. Not only us young people do all the work, our grandparents work as a council with the government. Basically what a council is they submit business. So ya they don't get away with jobs either. My job is to take care of the animals. I honestly think that my job is the easiest one to do. I like my job and i think my brothers are jealous. I also wish i could go work at the market place. They say i have to be at least 16 to work there but I like my job. Our city-sate Sparta has values. The values that we have are military, land around us, men, women, children, bravery, water, and animals. It keeps going on, its to much for me to list. There are places that i really want to go the only place that i have been to was Troy. I have a huge list. Olympia, Crete, MT Olympia, and a lot more. Well i have to go my mom says one of the goats are eating my brothers cloths as he is wearing them and i have to help. One our biggest values is education so if you are a boy and come to Athens you will get a lot of education. My dad was mostly at the agoras with all the other men to talk about government. Our government is democracy which mean rule by the people.

Hello!  My stepmother just got me this journal!  So far my day has been great!  I learned how to sew my blanket up!  I am jealous that my brother gets to go out to the Agora!  Men always get to do things we woman can't!  My uncle came, but I don't really like him.  Stepmother says this all the time, "Family is family, and blood is thicker then water."  I guess she's right.

Day 2
My stepmother taught me how to make bread and cheese.  It was pretty easy, but she said we're going to make fish next, I don't even like fish, at least not here.  My brother told me that woman aren't real citizens.  He's not right, I hope.

Later in Day 2
My brother went to school today.  I wish I went to school, it gets boring here.  All I do is cook, clean, help my stepmother.  Soon I'll be taking care of a little sister.  She'll be cute until she barfs.  Gross!

Night in Day 2
I hope my father doesn't catch me writing, I was supposed to be in bed a long time ago.  I've been thinking about how it would be to be a man.  I could go to the Agora, talk to my friends, go to work, go to school.  Only bad thing is I might be called to a war.  Goodnight journal.

Day 3
I found out I love one of the most valued, well values!  Art!  My father said only men have time to make art, but what does he know, he hasn't made a pot or cup!  I could draw all the best selling art one day!  Just you wait!

Later in Day 3
My father says I write like I'm trying to send a letter from the war.  I take it like a compliment.  My brother stole me a map from his school.  I keep it under my bed.  My brother told me that Greece is a peninsula  peninsula, whatever that is.  I see Greece as a broken part of Europe.

In my room we have very little space. If you live in Sparta like me and my friends, you don't get given food, you have to steal it. Now, to the outsiders, this may seem weird , but we don't eat that much. If we get caught stealing food, we can go to jail or get killed. But, we are trained to steal. I was trained in my second year to steal. Mainly, women spend time at home to protect the homes and train to be mothers. They do get training to protect the homes if someone get in. This is why we value women so much. We also value war. Our government is run by two kings at once. My only education is to fight. If you choose to visit, I'm in Sparta, Greece. I just ended my day of training and I'm really tired. The military has taken me away to live in barracks. I met some people but I was mostly focused on my hunger.  I had to steal from a poor baker , but the bread surly tasted good. Our instructor has told us that if we are caught stealing, showing fear, or are´nt focused we will be punished. This all happened because Sparta is part of a military oligarchy which means that they are focused on military control. While i'm living in a small barrack my sister is at home training to raise strong children , she also has to stay as fit as possible. The women in Sparta are even allowed to own property and small businesses. 

 20 years later 
 My live has changed dramatically I have lived through the worst years of my live. Now it is time for me to become a military trainer. I am know training young boys to fight. I have told the young boys that the only thing that they have to fight for is our city. Us Spartans value hard work, war, doing our best, military, and of course to protect the city! Sparta is located on a peninsula were we have asses to the Aegean sea, and 3 other gulfs. We have a mountain range that crosses over our land. We have banded together with Athens to defeat the Persians. Now I have become a military general and we are going into battle. Some of my men wont make it but they will be remembered as someone that fought to protect his city.  

27 years later...

I don't have long to write because my mom will call me soon. I was right there's my mom calling me so bye gotta go. 

June 1st 
Hi again. It's very early in the morning and I woke up just so I could write in my journal. My mom wants me to talk about the government and the way Athens women are treated. Well for starters I really like are government because it is controlled by the people. We get to make are own decisions and its nice. For the role of women I don't really like it. My mother is property of my dad and pretty soon I will be like that. I wish I could live in Sparta. Even though my mom and dad wouldn't approve I don't care. I would love to have more freedom. The only downfall is the fact that I would be living a rugged lifestyle. I would have to train to fight so I could be the mother of a warrior. I also would get a nice education though. A little bit more of a education then I have here. All I get here is a education on how to run a house and raise children. It's a lot of work. In Athens some of the things we value our education and the arts. I can't write anymore I have to go help my mom with chores. Have a good day! Bye.

My sister got better and now work around the house is faster. My sis likes to lighten the mood when we are upset. 

My brother is going to the barracks for two years. My other brothers already went and are happy for him.

My mom said we can at least send him letters to see how hes doing. 
 
Yesterday I sent my brother a letter and today i got one back it said:

By the time I was seven my brothers were fourteen, fifteenth, and sixteen. I was off to school. The girls schools weren't as tough as the boys though. They wanted the girls to learn and train in Athletics and exercise. I was the best girl in my class. Sparta girls have a better education then Athenian girls. In Sparta we were ruled by two kings that also serve as military leaders. We had the governing Bodies or Council of Elders. The council needed a requirement of men over sixty. The Spartan Court could pronounce a death sentence or recommended exile. Ephors made sure the King and the Council acted within the limit of the Spartan law. Unlike my brothers they trained day and night. Month after month they would get bigger and stronger everyday. They lived in Barracks. They also get beaten to make them tough. Men were required to stay fit and fight until the age of sixty. But since my dad and uncle are the kings they said my brothers will stay until one of them turns seventeen. Since my dad and uncle helps my brothers train they made sure they would never be caught. But my mother was married at the age of eighteen. My dad got married at the age of nineteen. Which means my mom is twenty-eight and my dad is twenty-nine. We live below our fellow enemies Athens. We are living around the little islands that look like they have been smashed by a hammer. I love where we live.
