a. One of the artists I research put a bee as the focal point, and I liked it so I put a snake as mine. 
b. instead of putting the snake around the cup I only did it on one side, so it could be more of a focal point. I also changed my third design so there could be sparkles around the snake to accentuate it. 
c. the pinch technique made my vessel a little bit harder to carve into but it ended up being fine. 
d. I really like the flower pattern long the top.

a. The artists and sgraffito vessels I researched inspired me with the lines around their designs and their composure of their pieces helped me get an idea of how I wanted my piece to come together.
b. I mainly stuck to my original design but I changed some of the symbols I put on my piece.
c. A challenge for me was getting the shape of my mug to be exactly how I wanted and I had to start over a few times but eventually got the shape to be how I wanted.
d. The artist and the sgraffito vessels that I researched inspired the shape of my mug and the principle of pattern that I used. I decided to repeat my tree design throughout my piece because I was influenced by the pinch pot vessels I saw while researching. 
b. I ended up switching my design so that it better complemented my piece. I used some of the same symbols as my previous design like the sun and trees, however I didn’t keep the coffee cup and golden retriever. I decided not to do the coffee cup because it didn’t match well with the rest of my nature inspired elements, and I decided that it was too difficult to carve a golden retriever and make it look good. 
c. A challenge for me was creating the shape of the mug and making sure the piece was even in height around the opening. In addition, I didn’t wrap the clay very well so when I was trying to carve it the clay was very dry and that made it more 
difficult. 
d. Some successful parts of my design are the size and height my mug turned out to be and the sun symbol on the handle.

The artist that I researched inspired me how tall the vessel was but then I could't do it the way the artist did it so it turned out like a  tea cup I guess the most successful part is that I carved my 3 elements.

b.I stuck to my design and am satisfied. That said, I would have done more layers of glazes.
c. One challenge I faced was carving away the glaze neatly.

C) One challenge I faced while making my piece was the clay sticking to my surface when I rolled it out to form my slab.

I then smoothed it all out and added the handle. I painted it black and added a catipillar on the handle and some flowers on the base. 

3a: I did not really take a lot of inspiration from other artists but I got contrast from one of my artists.
B: I did stick to my design but i turned it into a plant pot instead because I would use it more.
C:  A challenge was probably smoothing it took a lot of time 
D: I made the handle very sturdy

A- I did not have that much insolation from my artist so I went with more of my own design and approach 
B- No I did not stick to my design because I felt like it was more of a forced must draw it design so I changed it a little and went with something else that I thought looked cool
C- Probably my biggest challenge was getting the perfect straight lines on the pot 
D- The double handle looks very nice and it is very strong

a- I researched a bunch of diffrent artist but my main insperation came from watching videos in class i liked how they added aspects of their family into their pieces so i tired to do that.

b- I did not end up sticking with my original deign because i realized the deign was too big for a smaller canvas so i changed it up but still kept some aspects of my original sketch in my final piece.

c-My biggest struggle was when my piece got bone dry, that made the sgraffito part more difficult and i was afraid of it breaking from the pressure of carving. 

d- i just really like how it turned out i like use of repitition in the leaves and the line useage for the stems and in the oregon outline.

A- I researched Ruth King who inspired me to use the slab technique,

B- I had to redo my design one time because originally it was too short and I switched out the wooden spoons for flowers. I switched the images because I thought it would go better with my theme.

C- Like I said earlier I struggled with the getting the correct dimensions for my piece.

b) I used a slab build technique instead of my original plan of coil building. I liked that I could get a very smooth finish with the slab.

c) The handle was challenging, I'm not sure if it will be strong enough.

i forgot to take progress pictures so this is how i did it

a.)The vessels I researched inspired me to create a unique piece.  None of the pieces I researched had anything in common so it made me think I should make a piece unique to myself.

b.)I stuck with my same design from the beginning.  It worked well for me because of its compatibility with the cylindrical mug.  

c.)My biggest challenge was trying to figure out which type of construction to use.(slab, coil or pinch)I started out with the coil method but I couldn't attach the bas to the cylinder part.

d.)A successful part of my design was how the sunset wraps around the top of the mug from the face into the inside.
