Week 2 is about the Pillars of Islam. In this topic, we learnt about Hadith Jibril. For the first time hearing about this hadith, i find it really interesting.

The summary of this story is angel Jibril came to Prophet Muhammad in the form of a man dressed in white and very clean. Jibril asked the prophet about three important things, namely Islam, faith, kindness and the Day of Judgment. The first thing is Jibril asked the prophet about what faith is. and the prophet replied that faith is believing in Allah, angels, books, messengers, the Day of Judgment and Qada' and Qadr.

Then, Jibril asked about Islam and the Prophet explained that Islam is saying the shahadat, performing prayers, paying zakat, fasting in the month of Ramadan, and performing Hajj if able. After hearing about Islam, Jibril asked Prophet Muhammad again, what is ihsan. and the prophet replied that ihsan is worshiping God as if we see Him, and if we cannot see Him, we must be sure that God sees us.

And the last Jibril asked, when is the Day of Resurrection? and the prophet answered, 'About the Day of Resurrection, the person who is asked does not know more than the person who asks'.

Furthermore, we also discussed the importance of Islamic Pillars. First, can strengthen the relationship with God and with fellow human beings. Second, by fully believing in the pillars of Islam, it will be able to purify our souls. And the last is to make us real servants by always worshiping God no matter what.

This topic is really important and i really like hearing this story because there are many lessons we can learn. One of the lesson is to make us true servants. So, every Muslim must learn and take lessons from this story.

Suggestion to improve our Usrah:

💡we can watch the video of the prophet's sad stories to defend Islam in order to give us awareness and lessons.

💡maybe every time after the end of the usrah discussion, we can play games using Quizizz website related to the title of the usrah so that we all understand better and get a lot of good from it.

for this week the topic is about Pillars of Iman. In this week, we learn about believe in god and angels. The definition of believing in God can be divided into three, namely rububiyyah, uluhiyyah and asma wa Sifat.

so, first is Rububiyyah which is about we pray to God at the divine angle. that means we believe in Allah who created us, who made us. second, Uluhiyyah. Uluhiyyah is about us praying to Allah as the one god. the meaning is that we believe only Allah is worthy of our worship and no one else, only Allah. and the last one is Asma wa Sifat. . The meaning of this monotheism is that we believe that Allah has his own names and attributes. for example, in surah Maryam verse 65, Allah has explained that Allah is the one who created the heavens and the earth and Allah is the ruler over the face of the earth. and we as servants cannot deny.

Besides that, we talked about believing in angels. for this point, I learned that we must believe in angels because that is a form of our piety to Allah. I also learned that God created angels because God wants to teach us to live together. I also learned an interesting information about angels, which is that angels also perform Hajj.

Lastly, we also discussed the advantages of Al-Quran. including the Al-Quran which is the greatest miracle of Prophet Muhammad SAW. second, it is a guide for us in life. third, this Al-Quran also does not have any deviations in it. that means Allah takes care of the Quran. and last but not least, Al-Quran also as a cure. for example, in surah Al-Fatihah, we read it as a wall for ourselves.

Suggestion to improve our Usrah:

💡maybe we can play games using Quizizz about pillars of iman to help us understand more.

💡maybe each usrah member can find many more surahs in the Qur'an related to only Allah that we should worship so that we can understand and believe in him more deeply after finishing the usrah.

for this week, we resume the topic from previous usrah which is believe in angels and messengers, Qiyamah Day, and Qada' Qadr.

first, we discussed about the duties of the prophet. There's many of them, one of them is to lead us to heaven by doing many acts of worship. We also talked about what is not in other prophets, but is in Prophet Muhammad SAW, which is prophet muhammad is the greatest intercessor.

I also learned about the characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad that we should follow, which is that the Prophet is always grateful for the blessings of Allah. The Prophet is also a person who is always humble even though he is a messenger.

second, we learn about the importance of believing in the Day of Judgment. by believing in the Qiyamah Day, I learned that it can increase our love for God. moreover, we will also be more afraid to commit sin.

Lastly, we discussed about the importance of believing in Qada' and Qadr. many things I have learned, among them is that we will have peace of mind, in addition, it will give us the strength to go to the path of Allah SWT, and the last is that by believing in this sixth Pillar of Iman, it will be able to remove bad morals and making us as a Muslim who is pious to ALLAH swt.

Suggestion to improve our Usrah:

💡before starting the usrah, we can start by Salawat to the prophet at least 10 times because the prophet himself Salawat more than 70 times a day even though he is a resident of heaven.

💡maybe we can watch a video about the signs of Qiyamah Day so that we will be more afraid to commit sin and do more worship to Allah SWT.

So, for this week, our usrah is in online mode. Our topic for this week is the relation of Ihsan and Eschatology. Eschatology is life after the world which is Qiamah Day.

I learnt that to achieve ihsan, we have to be good people ( in other words, it called 'muhsin'). So, to achieve muhsin, we should give kindness to others. Secondly, we should also give our best in doing good for others, which means we must sincerely strive to do good for others in whatever we do. And lastly, we must do good solely for the sake of Allah, not expecting any reward from people.

This topic can also be related to the stories of the prophets. For example, Prophet Nuh (AS) is a muhsin because he preached day and night for 950 years, yet only 80 people followed him. Prophet Nuh also built an ark to save his people from the punishment of Allah SWT. This shows that Prophet Nuh did good for others to the best of his ability, and he did so with great sincerity and dedication.

Next, we can also relate the concept of muhsin to Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He is considered a muhsin because he advised his father against idol worship and encouraged him to believe in Allah SWT. Prophet Ibrahim also earnestly destroyed the idols so that people would only obey Allah. Furthermore, he followed Allah's command by being willing to sacrifice his son, with his intentions solely for Allah SWT.

Lastly, Prophet Yusuf (AS) is also considered a muhsin. This is because he firmly turned away from Zulaikha when she tempted him to commit acts that would displease Allah. Not only that, but Prophet Yusuf wisely stored enough supplies for the people to use during the drought. Throughout all his actions, he always had the intention of doing everything solely for the sake of Allah SWT.

In conclusion, for this topic, we must always do good for others with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure in the Hereafter. I have also learned that by practicing ihsan, we will find safety on the Day of Resurrection, which is Qiamah Day.

Suggestion to improve our Usrah:

💡My suggestion is that we can learn about other prophets who are also considered muhsin, in addition to the ones we discussed today, so that we can further enhance our knowledge about it.

For our last usrah this sem, we discuss about our Adab towards our parents. We learned about a story of a prophet that relates to our topic this week, which is Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

From the story of Prophet Ibrahim, he never used harsh words towards his father, even though his father worshipped idols. Not only that, even when his father did wrong to him and expelled him from his home, Prophet Ibrahim (AS) still prayed for his father to believe in Allah SWT. Allah accepted his prayer.

The lessons we can learn from the story of Prophet Ibrahim is first, we must use gentle words and language when speaking to our parents. Second, we should be kind and always treat our parents with goodness. Third, we should always be humble. We should not feel that we are better than them, because they are the ones who cared for and raised us since we were young.

And last but not least, we should keep making dua for them. We should always pray for our parents, asking for their health, well-being, and that they are always protected by Allah SWT.

Suggestion to improve our Usrah:

💡Perhaps we can further discuss the Adab we should have towards our parents so that we can all benefit from them and treat our parents well.

In the first week of usrah, we started our usrah with a simple taaruf session and made a mini game among new usrah members. Then, we have a discussion about THE HIKMAH OF IBADAH.

First of all, Ḥikmah refers to the combination of knowledge and action (according to Ibn Qutaiba). Next, we talked about niyyah. I learn that having the right intention (niyyah) is important because it makes sure our actions are done for Allah. Without the right intention, our deeds might not be accepted by Him, and we could be doing things for the wrong reasons, like to please others instead of Allah.

We learned some tips to ensure our niyyah is correct:

First one is Sincerity, which is do the act of worship only for the sake of Allah SWT, not for any other reason.

Next is Purity of intention, we should make sure our intention is pure and free from hidden motives.

The third one is Clarity, which is we should be clear about what we intend to do and why we want to do it.

Fourth, Focus on our worship and avoid any distractions.

And the last one is Consistency. For this point, i learned that we should make sure our intention stays the same throughout the act of worship.

»Next, we also discussed about AMAL (عَمَلٌ).

In Islam, Amal means doing good deeds and acts of worship to show devotion to Allah.

I learnt that amal is really important because it helps both the individual and the community through kindness and charity. In addition, to practice amal correctly, one should do good deeds with sincerity, keeping the right intention, and be consistent in performing them.

»Furthermore, we talked about EHSAN (إِحْسَانٌ).

In Islam, Ehsan means practicing good virtues like kindness, honesty, humility, and patience.

About Ehsan, i learnt that to live with Ehsan, we should understand its importance, practice these good traits in our daily lives, and think about whether we are following them. Over time, these qualities should become a natural part of our character.

In today session, we discuss on the topic of reasons and sources of Hikmah from ibadah.

So for introduction, we talked about the purpose of Allah create human in this life, which is only to do worship to Him.

“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” (51:56)

firstly, we talked about hikmah of prayer.

“Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.” (29:45)

i learned some of the things we can gain and we must do when we perform prayer:

-prayer helps us remember Allah, avoid bad behavior, and encourages us to follow His guidance.

-ikhlas which is sicerity only for Allah SWT.

-fear of Allah

-remembrance of Allah

FASTING builds taqwa, empathy, and discipline, helping believers grow closer to Allah. It also reminds us that Allah is always watching, weakens Satan’s influence, and encourages acts of worship.

“O you who have believed, • decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.” (2:183)

ZAKAT cleanses both our wealth and ourselves, encouraging generosity and reducing greed. It helps remove sins and bad qualities, while also supporting those in need.

“Take, O Muhammad), from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke (Allah’s blessings) upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.”

Last one is HAJJ(Pilgrimage). I learned that Ḥajj teaches believers to follow Allah's commands and avoid sinful actions.

Etiquette of Ḥajj:

-Avoid indecent behavior

-Stay away from disobedience and disputes

-Focus on worship and good deeds

Week 5 of Usrah, we discuss on the topic of virtues found in sawm (fasting).

" Wahai orang-orang yang beriman! Diwajibkan atas kamu berpuasa sebagaimana diwajibkan atas orang-orang sebelum kamu agar kamu bertakwa."

As we already know, the main purpose of fasting is to attain taqwa, which is awareness of Allah SWT.

The main thing that i've gain during this week usrah session is fasting not only helps us control our desires and stay away from the temptations of Satan, but it also teaches us to avoid sinful actions like backbiting, lying, and speaking badly, so that our hearts become closer to taqwa.

Nabi SAW bersabda:
"Jika seseorang tidak meninggalkan perkataan dan perbuatan palsu, maka Allah tidak memerlukan dia meninggalkan makanan dan minumannya." (Sahih Bukhari).

In conclusion, I learned that we fast to seek Allah's mercy, appreciate His blessings, and develop qualities like empathy, forgiveness, and kindness, so we can grow closer to Allah and reflect His love in our daily lives.
