This video showed the differences between Taft and Roosevelt. Taft took a conservative approach to reform which disappointed progressive members of the Republican party and the public at large. Taft faced challenges because Roosevelt was a very personable person and popular with voters. Even though Taft was an attorney he was very timid and shy as a politician. Americans during this time wanted a more radical change. Taft was more sympathetic to the conservatives than the progressives. He experienced turmoil within his own party while president. The public felt he was failing to support Roosevelt’s reforms. Taft initiated several things, like tariffs, that raised prices on imported goods. The video showed how the bickering between Taft and Roosevelt created problems.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkty_zjUK9g
