I felt workshop was really helpful for people who did not have too many tips to study or they lack of experience to communicate, to be honest, I cannot arrange my time efficient, I tried to make an agenda and schedule for my exam but it was not going well, one of the reason is I did not have this habit and I cannot force myself to do something. I did not use my time well during the last exam period. But I do think that the workshop was useful for those who needed it.
Next coming period I will change a lot, for example, communication, study skill, arrange time. Not only because for exam, but also for myself and I think I can do it.

Reflection exercise for SCC portfolio – Exams

1. In your previous education, what were the exams like? (mainly open questions, mc-questions, cases, open-book exams, etc.). How much time did you get for the exams? How did the grading system work? How long did it take to get the grade? Could you review your answers and the teacher’s corrections?

2. According to you, what would be the ideal way to prepare for a written exam? To what extent are you following/did you followed to this ideal in the exam preparations?

3. Do you tend to get nervous or even anxious about taking exams? What could you do to deal with this?

4. Have you read the Chapter 14 in the Study Skills handbook about revision and exams? Write down at least one piece of advice that you think is worth trying, and which you haven’t tried before (e.g. revising by ear, how to prevent going blank, etc.)

5. In class, you exchanged exam prep information with your classmates. Write down at least one valuable tip that you got from a classmate.

1.In my previous exams, there were mainly open questions. It depended on the exam you took, some might be more applying knowledge than others. We got either 60 minutes or 120 minutes per exam and we got the same grades in my previous education as we do at the HAN. Teachers had 2 weeks time to grade our exams and 30 minutes was dedicated to review your answers and discuss the results in class.
2. For me, according to summarize is a best way to prepare for an exam, but some of students would prefer to summarize by themselves, In my opinion, this will waste much time and I will feel boring at last, so I used summarize from book and powerpoint which is from my teacher. 3.I would get nervous about an exam, if it was a hard one and I didn't study well and/or thought I was going to fail it. I would be quiet and just take the exam, though. I think most of students cannot deal with this feeling because it is human nature :( Thus, I have not deal it yet.
4. I think the worth trying for me is ask for help, from I was in my primary school until now, I did not really like ask question and I did not know why, I know It was not because of shy but I cannot ask for help immediately, actually, this is really good way to help me to study well. The skill I have not tried before was work with others, I had BSP in my this semester, but I never had group work before, it was really a challenge for me and I fond of study alone than together.
5. The valuable tip from my classmate it was to be a good time manager, I am not a time manager, I am easily distract by other things when I study. It a weakness for me and I want to change it, my classmate suggested me first thing was master my mind first, then I can do everything follow my step.

Grade list = great list?

On the one hand, I have to say grade = great, as grade can decide everything at last even including who will be kick out of school, grade is a only thing can show how many knowledge you learned before, and how is your attitude for study. We can see from other students in our class, who had great grade, she/he must be a great students to us. On the other hand, I do not agree this, for a real example, Einstein's teacher thought that he was a dumb child because he cannot got high grade not being interested in what you study doesn't make you less intelligence or dumb. Furthermore, Your emotions affect your thinking process, memory and your ability to concentrate while studying. The emotions you experience while studying or while taking the exam can affect your grades greatly. Finally, I think to be a great student should be focus everything not only one hand but also everything do the best as possible as they can.

“Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”
This quote, coined by Winston Churchill, encourages me to not let failure break my spirit. In college, I know I will face a number of situations that I never experienced before, If I want to be successful in college, I must maintain my enthusiasm after suffering setbacks. Then, I have my own dream, create my destiny. College is the perfect time to seize control of my life and start planning for my future. Until I began attending college, I have felt controlled by those around me, especially by family members. Once I enter college, however, I must become capable of deciding my own path. In addition, during my years at Arnhem Business School, I will have the luxury of time to plan my life. By contrast, if I let myself get caught up in my daydreams, I will miss opportunities to help me to achieve my goals. Think about the things I want to accomplish in my life, and use my time in school to tackle those dreams.
